Paved Road

Question for all the western guys...

In the continental US, what is the furthest you can go away from a paved road?

 

For the viewers out here, are you counting fire roads and dirt trails as paved?

 

Nope. Blacktop, Concrete or rolled gravel is what I count as paved.

 

I mean, you can go anywhere that local law doesn't prohibit and where there are no signs telling you not to.

There's some pretty remote areas in Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington & Idaho. Here's a story about some guy who got stranded in the middle of BF Oregon and wasn't found for a few days. They call that area the "Oregon Outback" for a reason

What paved roads? I mean it is Canada but i mean.....

 

Not even close. One of my favorite spots to camp along is at least 60 miles from the nearest pavement and I have done ~400 mile loops with not a piece of hard surface.

The farther north you go the farther from paved road you can get.

 

Lol 22 miles. A two day hike if you hike it slow. Sort of bursts the bubble of those overlanders that kit up for being hundreds of miles away from civilization.
