Front/rear tints

My 19 TRD PRO came with factory tints in the rear. I want to get the driver and passenger side tinted as well..should I just remove the rear tints and completely re do them all or just do the front and save money?

I'm looking to tint the front at least 20-30% but the back tints looks lighter than that and it would look weird. Any information is appreciated!

 

Rear tint is a bitch to remove. I used a hammer.

The back glass is colored glass, there’s nothing to remove. Best thing is to tint the front to match and if you are doing ceramic, clear the back windows with clear ceramic.

 

The rear is privacy glass, not tint and does not provide the benefits of UV blockage (this is what the shop told me); I did 20% all around and love it

 

What he said backs are colored.usually. Around 30-35. If you want it to match u need to get around 15 on the fronts.

if you get 20 or higher it won’t match due to the light coming in from the windshield

 

So basically they just put a tint over the rear windows?

 

Yes

they’ll add a film that adds too the colored glass and drops it down to what you request

 

Okay. I live in California so it gets quite hot here. In my previous car I had 5% rear and 35% fronts. If I get 5% for my Taco in the rear would that be too dark since the rear is already covered?

 

Talk to the shop but whatever you do you really want to make sure to tint the backs

 

it wouldnt match if that’s what you mean. Like goncalves said the privacy glass doesn’t affect UV so u would want to add tint to the rear if you are worried about heat.

I always request 15front 20 rears on my and wife’s cars and were in Florida.

With that You can see the silhouette of a person inside but can’t make out any features but we have to sign a waiver since it’s not legal

So when you say rear for a 19 access cab.... rear window or access cab windows are colored or tinted from factory?

 

When i had a silver 4runner, all i wanted was a white car with blacked out mods... but goddam a black tacoma is sexy

 

They are usually colored but you can check the edges of the glass for a film line sometimes dealers add tint
