No doubt! I also have a pair of SS3 SAE Pro Driving pods coming soon that I'll mount as ditch lights (aux high beams). Very excited to compare to my BD Squadron Pros. Planning on mounting my driving/combo Squadron Pros on a Rago hidden bumper mount, also converting them to amber. Will definitely post more pics of the setup.

Yeah... I would call customer service and swap them out to be on the safe side.

 

These are the Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro 6000K fogs on my 4Runner. The top photos are just low beams (XV2 HID - 4800K) and bottom photos are low beams and fogs.

 

You can really see how they light up those trees to the side. Nice.

 

Installed the SS3 PRO yellow's. Wow. They are impressive. I'm shocked at how far to the side they provide useful illumination. I like the cut offs, they are a nice balance of soft/hard. They blend into the headlights very well, you don't end up feeling like you have a split.

If it's not raining I will take some tonight. It's hard for me to get away from ambient light since I'm surrounding by street lamps, but I will do my best to get pictures that reflect the output.

 

It’s crazy how many lights are around when you start looking for a dark test spot.

 

That's why I needed my improved fog lights, so I'd know they are working when I am in well-lighted areas.

 

A couple last pics with DRL only. Will be sending them back as the BD SAE fogs just aren’t as bright as I wanted. They aren’t awful, but not a $400 upgrade.

I honestly think it depends on what the fog lights shine against. Other backdrops you can’t even tell they’re on. Darker colored objects the DRL wash out the yellow color too.
I’m hoping I’m not being to picky, but it sounds like the SS3s are an improvement over these and $75-$100 less.

 

Wherever you’re buying BD lights from stop, before canceling my order I nearly half what you did and that was before the $50 rebate I would’ve got back

 

It was $88 less to buy the SS3 pros. But I also have to pay to ship the BD SAE back

 

Thats crazy, if you buy any other BD products hit up some site sponsors they offer pretty good prices

 

I don’t know. The price I paid was below any other site I can across. And it’s a well known reputable Dealer active on TW. Did you have the Tacoma specific kit?

No I just buy the lights, I always forget I’m on a Tacoma forum lol. But I’m pretty surprised at the price difference between the lights and whole kit. With the Black Friday rebate that kit would’ve been $300.

On another note you’ll be way happier with the SS3 pros, having talked to someone with both and seeing side by side comparisons there really is no comparison between the two.

 

yeah I got in the game a little late. Was going to buy the KC ambers and changed my mind. Then a few weeks after the sales decided to try the BD. Lost some money overall, but think I made the right call returning the BD SAEs and buying the DiodeSS3.
Glad to hear that! The numbers really are in favor of the Diode Dynamic fogs.
