Big Broken Arrow trail fan. Great scenery and good wheeling.

Try the Devil's Staircase uphill next time!

 

The entire trail was great! And definitely will! I wanted to do it this time around but the wife had enough for that day lol

 

I had a feeling that wasn't stock ride height. I live very close to this trail and didn't think stock was high enough.

 

Stock is definitely high enough.

Even stock TRD Sports can do the entire trail.

I was just out there last week and cleaned Broken Arrow, Schnebly Hill Road, Outlaw OHV, and Diamondback Gulch -- with a 2018 2WD OR -- not stock height, though. Lockers come in handy in some of the tougher parts.

 

These trucks are capable out the factory. Just pick good lines and use common sense. With that said, the little lift and bigger tires did help lol

So you guys are saying my stock 4x4 TRD OR will clear all of the main Sedona area trails with a little common sense?

Where did you mount the common sense? Is it like an intake manifold or something?

 

Most important thing.... and something very few have, is the ability to drive well off road. Everybody says tires, or lift, or anything else but nobody talks about skill. That is most important and only comes with practice.

 

I am going to have to get over and check that trail out.

 

And like many this is what I lack in off roading.

I did my first semi difficult road/trail in Joshua tree national park. We drove up by some old mines it was pretty cool.

I am really only interested in upgrading the tires and putting rock sliders on as I think they will help with the 9.5" clearance this truck has.

Go find a rutted dirt road. Climb a small grass hill when it's wet. Find a small mud hole where you can put left side or right side tires in it. This is how you learn. Practice. Start easy. Go to some of the clinics the off road guys put on.

 

Not saying all, but the trail I was on is possible. People on this thread have done it. I'm not saying I would have tried with a stock truck, I'm still a novice also. The mods on my truck just gave me a little more confidence. I debated if I wanted to do this trail cause my lack of experience but I took it slow and picked the right lines and ran it withoutany issues. I'd still be nervous on some obstacles on a stock truck, but plenty have done it. I guess that shows my inexperience.
