Thanks! I'm really happy with how both turned out!

As for the moose skull, I did not, unfortunately. A friend did, and he cleaned/mounted it and he wanted us to have it for our first house (we just bought this place in August). We really like it though!

Ray you should definitely posts pics of walnut slabs, with a tape for reference, my wife would probably divorce me but depending on price, even throw away six be tempted to pay to ship them East. Especially if they’re seasoned and somewhat stable.

Got a couple little projects going. Started a jerky board, started a pecan pepper mill. It wont let me load pics right now. The 3x3x12" pecan block is really neat color

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
How does pecan compare to other woods you've used?

I sharpened my tools a little today but it seems a little softer wood, no discernable odor. Lots of nice figure in it. They should look really nice when they are done

    OMG! OMG! OMG!

This thing is way too fun. This is just 1 minute on a scrap 4x4. Trying to fennes it a little bit.
It just wants to eat the wood like a fat kid eats candy.

    A big mess. :dancingbacon:

Haha it could be useful for many things like quickly boaring the inside of a bowl while it's on a lathe. Or making butt prints on the seat of a chair.

The only thing is the indent for the flange nut was too small for the Dewalt or HF grinder. I have three of the old HF grinders laying around so I turned down the flange nut to under 40mm to fit.

It only took a couple minutes but you need a lathe to do that part.
