So you’re recommending a custom DIY aluminum shield bolted to the actuator?

 

Bolted so the heat shield covers as much of the transfer case as possible.. it's the oil in the transfer case that's most at risk here in arizona. alum or thin metal that you can form and pick a mounting place and leave an air gap about equal between exhaust and transfer case. If I'm making this too complicated.. wrap the pipe and change the oil every 30k miles

 

What’s funny is that I just removed that little dinky skid plate on the bottom of the transfer case. I THOUGHT it might serve me no purpose since I have big skids below but maybe it’s a heat shield purpose too? Pretty sure it’s thin stamped steel though. Hmmm

also I change my diffs and transfer case about every 30k anyway and I use synthetic so that prolly helps

 

When you look at how hot the transfer case probably got with the pipe directly below it compared to my new pipe BEHIND IT I bet the reroute alone (if done a certain way, like mine) can keep transfer case cooler and happier...

 

Finally got my low hanging exhaust rerouted. My @SOS CONCEPTS skid plate did an amazing job covering this but after I smashed my muffler on a trail one time, the low hanging pipe occasionally vibrates against my skid.
Scottsdale muffler rerouted my pipe and threw in a 18” magnaflow for $250 OTD. SO STOKED. Very very happy with this muffler. Absolutely no drone and plenty of character especially in low RPM’s. Can’t wait to wheel with it.

By end of December hopefully I’ve set some time aside to install these bad boys. @ARCHIVE hammer hangers with cross tube. I’m reusing factory shackles with Archive poly bushings in there. I’m going to attempt to drill and throw some zerks in those for grease-maintenance while I’m at it.

 

Made it out to Elvis trail (right near box canyon) in Florence junction. Good times! So stoked on this flex for such a basic and inexpensive suspension setup I have. That being said I still want much more travel than this. Lol.

Very very easy. I watched one YouTube video on it and learned the rest on my own. It’s super straight forward. A guy like you will figure it out if you just spend 10 mins with the dang thing messing with it

 

ya ya lol i messed with it for a few seconds and was need a video to show me im bad at written instructions

Hopefully within the next 1-2 months I’ll find time to install my hammer hangers, then have my fabricator install these towers & my cab mount relocation kit. Going to run Bilstein 14” short body 7100’s with remote reservoir. Should be a super killer setup
