Looks like you did it in your garage. How was overspray? I'm trying to decide if I want to build a 2x4/tarp paint booth and do it outside.

No overspray. It’s not thin like paint that is more airborne. It’s thicker and kind of splatters out of the gun. I would recommend old shoes and a drop cloth is all you need.

Good to know. I'll be doing it outside, so I might still do the spray booth to keep trash out.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Thinking about a Magnaflow muffler for the 4R.
Any idea what difference in sound might be between fatter versus longer muffler body?
Thinking about 5x11 oval 22" long vs 5x8 oval 24" long. Maybe these are so close that they sound the same and I just pick the cheaper one?

I may just be getting older but pretty much all I’ve done for the last two years on either of my trucks has been stuff to make them quieter. When I was 22, I didn’t mind the loud exhausts, loud tires and bedlined floorboard but I always felt tired after driving/wheeling or needed earplugs and still felt fatigued. Went back with the biggest $30 parts store special muffler I could fit, installed vinyl floors, went to a quieter tire and now I find myself actually enjoying my truck a lot more. Same goes with my F250 after I sound deadened the cab and put better door seals on it.

The beautiful sounds of gear reduction > exhaust noise. Makes me smile every time.

I agree, if it doesn't add power then why add sound.

I like my exhaust quiet so I can hear shit break under the truck. Which seems to be happening more and more.

After going to the 4runner, I enjoy the quiet. I’m contemplating sound deadening the whole thing just to make it that much quieter. I love it

    LOL.
I couldn't hear daughter speaking to me from back seat of FRS the other day.
Kinda loud with no muffler at all on it.

On the 4R, I just want a little growl to match the looks of it. But not so loud that I can't hear someone puke in the 3rd row.

I sold a built motor big turbo Mazdaspeed 3, was scary fast. I've done racecar, now I want to play in the woods.
