so Im not tracking yet, so you cut the piece then put it on or its one big log and you cut the tree out of that? how big of chainsaw you using? doesnt look like much space between the layers. Excellent work btw...

It's one big log. I use a 36" bar on my big saw to first get the main shape then switch to the smaller saw with a shorter bar and chain for the cuts. It's all on piece. No adding anything. Just cuts with a chainsaw.

I've been falling timber for sixteen years and worked in the woods for almost twenty five years. I can just feel it I guess.

Never have , yet. Thinking about it though. I've got a whole town of burnt wood to carve out of.

I been messing around with the 3D printer that I got for christmas. It took a few tries to get some basic settings dialed in, and Once I was getting some decent prints, I wanted to see how good I could get a random sample part printed.

So I found this gear on thingiverse and printed it at 100% fill @ .012mm layer height. Once it was finished after about 2 hours. I was really impressed with the quality.

Here it is after hitting the flats with some 1000 grit, which was not really needed, but again it was seeing just how smooth I could get it with minor effort...

Now for a little something just for fun... being a Star Wars Fan, I printed a set of Han Solo's Lucky Dice. Hit them with some gold spray paint. Still need to attach the chain and weather them a bit.
