37's, 3.73, and a completely stock 4.0L. How much has the acceleration rate been altered by in a 0-60 on my truck?

    Cross multiplication.

Then pick the available ratio that’s closest to X.

Nice ploy, not interested. You can live in whatever reality you choose. My post isn't intended for you. It's intended for people considering these modifications who want the facts before making a decision.

So give them the facts then, how much has the acceleration rate changed on my truck? According to you it should be a complete dog.

Ok, then I'll ask you. How much has the acceleration rate been changed on my truck on a 0-60 mph? Support your opinion with facts so that people know that you know what you're talking about.

I’m not going to lie. I have no interest in reading all the responses. I just want to make sure the standard Tacomaworld response “comparing the cost of regearing vs cost benefit of mpg saved” has been addressed. Because you all know that in any thread talking about mpg it’s required by the code of conduct to point out that anyone willing to invest 1,000 bucks to save some fuel will never see a return on their investment.

There is a thread on here somewhere that was asking regear or supercharge? Those options will not produce the same result. So the answer would be to do both. And the ultimate answer if you’ve got the means. Would be a 5.7 swap:spending:

Well at least you wrote some numbers. Later today I'm going to prove you have no clue what you're writing about. A 6% grade is around 4 degrees, I think the Alpine grade is around that number. 30 mph and 2nd gear is what you're being held to. Good luck, you're going to need it! Lmao

I think there's more to it than just restoring mpg.

For the record, 37's, 3.73, 4.0L, 15.27 mpg with most of it in the city and below 45 mph, a lot of idling as well. I've only run one tank of gas through it so that's all of the mpg info I have right now.

I think the standard TW response is all regurgitated talk that people read from an author that had no clue wtf they were writing about. People like @badger and @revtune apparently.

We need facts - not opinions.

I can't find the grade percent of Alpine grade but I did find the grade percent of another decent grade further east.

It's going to suck going up that grade in second gear at 30 mph, lol. Fully loaded semi trucks are going to be passing me hahahaha

Okay so just to be clear I see people debating mpg, this is not my concern, I am only concerned about being a grandma in the slow lane. Is a regear within my interests? I enjoy the current benefit of the TRD E-locker, is this the locker you are talking about or are you hinting that I need to upgrade to an air locker? Also as dumb as this may sound I dont know what an LSD is. I am here purely for science and gain...

People who put big tires on without regearing are funny to me.

Stay tuned, I'll have a informative post here later today...

Since you already have a elocker stay with that. You're already ahead of the game. I don't know a whole lot about them but a locker is a locker. The locker anytime mod seems to be popular, maybe look that thread up.

LSD: Limited Slip Differential. Your locker is a lot better than a LSD and would be a downgrade.

People that have an opinion and no facts are funny to me.

Nevertheless, I enjoy it when people laugh and if big tires and tall gears is what makes you laugh I'm happy to help you with that.
