What kinda noise is it? Do you hear like a type of rubbing? Kinda like if a you touched a fan with a pen while it was on? Or like a whistle?

Yes, I was just wondering if someone in the RGV was having the same issue. The dealership told us they had already replaced the part (expansion valve) and that on some it has come back but not on others.

Honestly, after seeing all of the TSS crap that the 18s and on have I think I lucked out getting in on a 17, even if the newer ones have power seats and all.

At the dealership they described it as hissing, but a lot of people are calling it a Darth Vader like noise. It’s honestly just the same AC noise you normally hear but it gets louder and then goes back to normal. It sounds like an oxygen tank when you open it and close it every 10 seconds for 10 seconds long. Gets pretty annoying after a while driving in it. I have to crank up the radio just to avoid the noise. I love the truck just driving me crazy :angrygirl:

my truck also has a little dash creak that only comes around when its cold lol.

luckily most of the time is warm but this morning ahhhh. I keep forgetting to shove some cardboard or something on the side for it stop.
someone else had it and they put toothpicks on the side of the dash and it stopped.

This is my third Toyota and never had any issues getting repairs under warranty. First time I’m having issues with Toyota. Have always been a fan of their brand and service, rethinking it now.

I do, but it’s saved on my phone. Need to figure out how to upload. I might need to upload a new recording of it but I’m at work.

yea i have the rpm whistle thing that happens occasionally. they say the fix is to replace a ac valve behind the dash, but id rather live with the occasional whistle then have the dash taken apart.

yea it happens on a shift between 2k - 3k rpms 2,3,4 gear. not all the time and sometimes its louder than other times.
I ignore it now since I know its more or less normal. right behind the steering wheel/ speedometer.

Oh no, no like that. There’s no whistle, but mine is constant regardless of driving or idling.

I cant say Ive heard that noise

Or when you're in CC and the car just slams the brakes.

You should speak to "Wish," that guy is always super chill and doesn't have an attitude whatsoever. Ive only really gotten a bit of attitude from one dude once. I asked him if they could give me the TSB for the erratic shifting and he said "well, we'll check it, but just because some guy on the internet said its that doesn't mean its that its that" in a very annoying manner. some other guy called me later saying they did the tsb and he gave me much better service. Even asked me to call him if I was still having problems so he can see what else to try. Not that there was anything else to try, but atleast he wanted to help.

I used to get just a little of that whistling sound until I added an AirAid throttle body spacer. It made it louder, but I think its kinda cool. Reminds me of like a turbo type thing.

    3.5 leveling Kit
I checked the makers of the leveling kit website and as I suspected, it was a 2.5 and 1.5 in the back kit that was installed.

The shop made a mistake on the information.
