To answer more clearly, back here in the frozen wasteland... I mean northeast.

Time to clean out the truck, and put all my crap away.

Couple of things came out of this vacation....

    Either way.
    Happy New Year y'all

Those of you with campers and such, do you do anything in the winter months for pest control in them? Normally I would just leave it alone figuring the cold temperature would force rodents into either my house (yay) or somewhere else, but was planning on buying a few poison traps just to be sure (along with the typical monthly inspections). Curious if there were any better ideas out there.

I've gone through the camper and sealed up any holes I could find with foam (you'd be amazed how big some of the holes are that only have a small 1/2" line through them), remove all of the food and bedding and put dryer sheets all over the camper. You can put moth balls under the camper but I'd keep them away a little bit so the smell doesn't migrate into the camper. Otherwise, you can do what you described, mouse traps in random spots, etc.

I do the same thing with the dryer sheets. I buy them at the dollar store (2 boxes for $1) and I put them everywhere inside the camper plus all the holes you were talking about. For some reason mice don't like the dryer sheets and you get the added bonus that the camper smells good not moldy when you open it up. I've done it for years and even though I know we have them in the yard I have never found them in the camper.

I do the same with the dryer sheets. If you have access to it you should try to check inside the camper at least once a week to get rid of any mice that do make it inside and get caught in the traps you set.

I use Irish Spring soap bars and put them all over the place inside the camper . I’ve also used dryer sheets . Unless you actually know that they are getting in the camper I would not use traps or poison bait that would attract mice .

Also... I’m not a big fan of the poison. If you see they have been eating it now you have to go find them.

Yeah traps or poison you should try to check inside now and then. Don’t wait until spring time like my neighbor.
