Ordered a new alternator. Mine was borderline for a couple of years and now that I've fixed my sound system it's finally dropping below 13v. Note for those who haven't changed their supercharger oil or taken off the drive section yet, put some saran wrap over your alternator before you do so.

Exactly the 2 items I just picked up the other day. Got a set of hose pliers and a serpentine belt tool (accidentally bought 2). Both are listed on the S/C install tools list.

have not installed mine yet but the color seems a lot darker on the new ones compared to my 2013 color. I may just paint it before I install. Also needed to cut the holes bigger to fit the speedhut gauges.

It's an NRG low-profile hub for a 2005 Celica. Back when I wanted the after-market wheel there wasn't an option specifically for the Tacoma. Consequently, the clock spring had to be removed, which is slightly annoying - the signal indicator doesn't automatically cancel.

Now you can get a 2nd gen Tacoma specific hub from NRG that allows you to keep the clock spring. My buddy got one from Amazon. I just had a look and I don't see it there at the moment. Maybe that's a Canadian amazon thing.

The steering wheel is a knockoff of a Nardi one.

Sorry for the drum up of an old post. I was almost 100 pages behind since life got hella hectic and crazy. Playing catch up and this caught me off guard. I have the Ucon also but didn't know it was possible to run the HPtuners tune and the Ucon at the same time. I am not so much worried about safety aspect as much as the fact I don't want to "waste" the $1500 I spent on the Ucon. I know there is no market to sell it used and I might as well use it if I have it. But would love to get the HPtuners tune for some extra help also. So to make it simple, It is possible to run the HPtuners tune and the Ucon? Yes?

I am running a Hptuned ecu with the UCon to remove the SAI system. I was also gonna have the throttle mapping adjusted but ended up not doing that bc i didnt want to separate the stock ecu and ucon to flash it again. Short answer yes, but i am not sure how ucon will cooperate or not with any changes made to fueling and timing. So if youre trying to get rid of CELs or map your throttle, i think youre safe to tune with HP and then run it behind ucon. I personally wouldnt try to tune the truck's fueling and other critical things as im not sure how Ucon would interpret the different signals. Hope this helps some

I 100% agree with @BassAckwards, and would also only tweak things as he mentioned and if you’re an Auto, the trans tuning or rev-hang delete for manual trucks.

If you’re looking to take advantage Of those things, I do have the ability to bench flash ECU’s and could save you the $299 for the MPVI2 if you’d like to save a few dollars.

You’d be looking at $250 for any/all the “mods”.

Am I a sissy? So I'm short and I hopped in the engine bay and held the cam with a 24mm and I tried with a standard 17mm combo wrench with a 1" combo wrench attached. Over 1.5ft of leverage. No luck budging and then I asked my brother to push while I pulled.. still nothing. Then his friend whose taller about 6' tried and still nothing. Maybe it's my crap for wrenches but any secret to getting the exhaust cam gear off? Any recommendation on better tools? I sprayed it with PB blaster and praying tomorrow is an easier day
    20200103_195057-01.jpg

Besides that, I started to make a wrap mod copying BillDaCat8's method. I have a friend with a lathe but trying not to rely on them just yet. I was able to move the bearing over and chop the rear cap. Still need to clean up the cut shell but took 20 minutes at work lol. Then measure everything once the charger is mounted. Not bad for a hack

longer the leverage bar the easier things get. example- s/c tensioner. try it with a standard rachet. then try with a 2' bar. huge difference.

I prefer it a little shorter actually because then I can use my BAMF skid to hold the rachet in place while I do my work. Dangerous, yes, but I've mastered the art of that tensioner and my rachet combo to get in there for the tight fit. :)
