He was doing it for a while lol. If I had better social skills I would ask if he needs help or if he’s doing it on purpose

    Thank you.

I’m really hoping I only have a few more days left of this and by Monday I’m able to go for a short run.

Alright. I was having some knee cave issues on previous squats. So I tried a slightly wider and foot angled out stance. What’s yalls opinions on movement and form? Tried to control it more going down and explode up. Noticed going too slow down made it hard to explode up so I’ve been experimenting.

Well your form looks way better than last time so you’re at least making progress. For pointers - first, I would ditch that belt and buy a real one that will actually give you support. Next, I’d quit squatting barefoot and get some squat shoes, or just shoes in general. You knee cave is most likely coming from your ankle mobility (or lack of) as I can see them folding in as you go to transfer your movement from down to up. Squat shoes or a shoe with a raised heel will really help you out. Then I would also get some knee sleeves. If you really want to “explode” out of the hole than having sleeves will really help. They create tension like a rubber Band and give you that pop when you start going up. Lastly I’d rack the weight one rung lower so you aren’t having to extend upward like that to rack it. You’re adding unnecessary risk for injury and making it harder for yourself to start and end the lift. I rack the bar almost at chest level and get under it and just stand up to unrack instead of trying to pry it off the rack.

thanks man. I’ll try to get a better belt first. I have shoes but I worry about slipping in them or something so that’s why I would go barefoot but I’ll start wearing them again. I don’t wanna do knee sleeves yet because I don’t want to rely on the gear. Want to get my joints and everything strong and then use sleeves once I go heavier.
That’s my logic but I could be flawed. I’m genuinely trying to listen to y’all and get better lol

You wear a seatbelt in the car because it’s for safety. Not because your body isn’t strong enough to be flung against the windshield yet. Sleeves aren’t there to give you any advantage. They are added security to fragile knees. They just have some benefits, like giving you a little bounce out of the hole...

    Just don’t get SBD...

    I like A7

    https://a7.co/products/a7-black-ipf-approved-knee-sleeves

    Strong/Slingshot

    https://markbellslingshot.com/collections/competition-compression/products/strong-knee-sleeves

    or Stronghouse Project

    https://www.stronghouseproject.com/collections/sleeves-cuffs/products/team-stronghouse-competition-knee-sleeves

If you like the Stronghouse ones I can probably find you a discount code on Instagram. They are sort of local and most dudes at the powerlifting gym here are “sponsored” and have codes...

for sizing, whatever you think you need, go one size less. I’m currently using the Strong sleeves and wear a small and I could easily squeeze in to the XS.
