You can get the 2WD low mod for about $125 (have to buy your own switch)

You're correct. He did say "just as capable". But I also believe that you knew what he was getting at even though he technically misspoke. Sure, he said it, but if you read the entire thread you can easily see that no one is knocking an OR or saying that the Sport is the same or better in any way. Yeah, yeah, say what you mean; i get it, but you focused on 3 words out of an entire thread claiming "false information" when the context can be found in any other post. Save us all the semantics, dude. Don't be a dick... You also liked another guy's comment after he stated that a "serious offroader" would "obviously" choose a 4-door pickup truck. Not to stoop to your level, but i think that we both know that that comment was "false information" and "is just plain ignorance".

If you are doing more serious offroading in a Tacoma from factory, you sure as shit would choose that locker over the Sport. But yes, most serious offroaders mod it anyway, so it is a wash. Listen, from factory, the OR is more capable offroad than a Sport. Period. Don't get it twisted even if it's perfect for your life and needs.

Who said factory? Who said the OR wasn't more capable? Who has it "twisted"? Where are you getting this from?

Lol stock I agree the Offroad is more capable. Majority of people don’t keep theirs stock, so that is really irrelevant. But yes I agree stock for stock the Offroad is more capable off-roading.

Really? What about the 2WD version of the Off Road? A 4x4 Sport is more capable than a 4x2 Off Road any day.

I put over 1K offroad miles on my VW bug every year, with no locker, CC, 4X4 or winch. It depends on where you are what you like and how you drive. So yes a 4X4 Sport is more than capable of doing offroad.

Got it. So we agree that half of the ORs are better for stock off roading and half are completely ridiculous then?

Let me say again. The point of this thread is not to bash Offroad owners. It is to show sport owners their sport is a capable Offroad vehicle just like the Offroad is, with mods, obviously. You’d know this if you watched the video.

i love my locker and use it all the time. would not be able to go the places i go without it.

that said, if i had a sport, i would add a locker. atrac is surprisingly good too.

Hear hear! I love my 2nd gen sport. I used to think putting "sport" on a 4x4 truck was oxymoronic, but then I took a buddy's F150 for a ride and realized that the TRD Sport really does drive and take corners pretty well. TRD Sport 4x4 -- best of all worlds!

I thought that what we are talking about haha. From factory. Shit, I mean technically a Civic is just as "capable" as a Fararri in a 1/4 mile drag. Or anything if you drop the right engine in.

Yeah stock for stock the Offroad is obviously more Offroad able. After you add tires on the sport it’s just as capable, or more capable. Just depends on what you’re doing.
