The 6 foot bed is 20% longer than the 5 foot. :deadhorse: 1/5 = .2

I was set on the 6 foot to haul a snowmobile until I learned the ski's won't fit between the wheel wells. So I opted for the 5 foot since the 6 foot bed makes the truck look like a wiener dog.

2019 Wht Sport model w/ the long bed (w/ a painted blk pinch weld). My only issue is in some small-ish parking spaces, the turn radius can be a challenge.

    I did. What's 20% of 5 feet and what's 17% of 5 feet?

Don't tell me what I'll argue! And you can't really argue that 1 foot is 20% of 5 feet. :anonymous:

Doesn't it depend on which direction you measure?

    6' bed is 20% longer than a 5' bed, but a 5' bed is only 17% shorter than a 6' bed....

Correct. That's why I said the 6 foot bed was 20% longer. I'm bored and trying to kill last 30 mins at work.

no we are comparing different sizes here.

    the math is as follows

    (5-6)/6 = .167
    .167 x 100 = 16.7%

It seems the long bed people are deeply insecure as well, a penis joke and a gay/I must be a woman joke? Yikes. Enjoy your slightly less small small truck beds guys.

Just thought I would chime in on the turning radius issue. I had a 2017 double cab short bed that, many times, I wished I just had that extra foot of space in the bed. So, when I was run off the road and flipped and totaled it I decided to go with a long bed on the new 2020. My impression is that I notice no difference whatsoever in the turn radius. Yes it’s a foot or so longer so it might be a little more difficult to parallel park in a tight spot. But for me I am very happy I ignored all the people saying how much worse the turn radius is. I’m guessing the ones that have an issue have never driven a full size pick up before?

I don’t think it’s so much that people are having an issue, I know for myself I drove half ton pickups from the time I was 16 to 23 when I purchased this truck. The shorter length, much better break over angle, and better turning radius were important to me because most trails in WA are very tight, and having moved from the country to the city, and being in Seattle multiple times a week (an absolute dumpster fire of a city by the way) I wanted every advantage I could get.

I bought the Tacoma for it’s size, and if I wanted or needed a bed that was ACTUALLY big I would’ve gotten another half ton. The 6 foot Tacoma bed is still small, just slightly less small. Now if people want or need a 6 foot bed, great! I’m glad you enjoy your awesome truck. Where it gets stupid is when people act like the 6 foot bed is somehow a “real” truck bed and the 5 foot bed isn’t. This is objectively ridiculous. And per you point, anyone who HAS driven a full-size truck will know that it’s ridiculous.

You are right, It’s almost the same shizzle. It’s one freakin foot .lol

But if my thing was off-roading I would definitely go for a OR DCSB.

MT does come in the "long bed" but only with the access cab Sport model.

MT only comes in SB so that did it for me. Otherwise I would have gone LB since we do a lot of camping but I don’t mind the RTT either
