Played a little game of day trading NIO and came out very well. It makes me very nervous with stocks like that.

I just set a limit to buy in then set a limit to sell that I’m happy with rather it’s at the top or not. Only thing I didn’t set was a stop loss limit.

There's always a chance it keeps on dropping and never hits my positive sell limit, but that's why it's great to create a stop loss limit as well. I've done it before with well branded stocks that I didn't plan on keeping.

The reason to be nervous is NIO is such a small scale company. Doing it with the likes of AMD, Apple, and SNE to name a few doesn't bother me as much.

No risk No reward I guess.

I keep hearing about the S&P index doing so well and decided to look for funds related to it. I found SPXL which ended up 100% for the year. But if you went with SPXU, you got your butt kicked. I just can't get myself to take on too much risk since I'm trying to be retired. My safe stuff ended up around 11.5% for the year so I'm good with that.

Watch out for leveraged funds. I don’t think they’re designed for long term holdings. I’d research them before using or you could end up in trouble.

Leveraged funds are a terrible idea for long term holdings. For long term S&P 500 I like VOO. To diversify into the entire market (and my favorite ETF) I like VTI.

Both are on my watch list! Looking forward to the fractional shares option coming to Robinhood.

I have a small annuity from a past employer who had matching funding. Once i left there, it was handed over 100%. I completely forgot about it for 3ish years and then was able to get back into it. I had lost about 25% because the investments were not being managed. Long story short, after I reorganized I ended this year UP 24.31%!! I just got the statement. I sure think I am going to be putting more cash into that now! IEOPX, MRDVX and BHSRX. There is less tha $10K in there, but hey! Ill take the uptick!

Thanks for pointing that out, I'm not looking to get into it, I was just looking around and saw how much it was up for 2019. I'll probably be rolling some of my 401K into the Roth IRA next week and I just need to decide which dividend fund I want to put it in.

I think leveraged funds are designed to be used as short term hedges. Not sure exactly, not my thing so never learned about them.

As someone said above, SPHD is an awesome dividend fund. It pays monthly, yield is over 4%, and had decent capital gain potential as well.

    First impression?
That the silly card was packaged like an apple product
You pull on one side of that box, and the card pops out on the other.

I don't have much concrete as I haven't had a chance to use it at all yet. I have like $4 in my account that's cash.
I did notice, however, that invested funds are not quite as liquid as I might have hoped. I sold some some stock to buy other stock and noticed that the funds weren't available for purchase or withdrawal although I could immediately use the proceeds to buy other stock.
You have to wait for funds to "settle" before you can access them with the card. My understanding is that is typically 2 trading days.

There are also some advertised limits.

Daily Debit Card Spending Limit: $5,000
Monthly Debit Card Spending Limit: $15,000
Daily ATM Cash Withdrawal Limit: $510
Monthly ATM Cash Withdrawal Limit: $2,500

APY on your cash balance is supposed to be 1.8%, so that's not too bad.

oil is up about 4% on the Iran general news... not nearly as much as it spiked after Iran conducted a drone strike on refineries in Saudi Arabia (~10% in one day).. methinks the markets are correct here. Iran doesn't have much control over the oil markets anymore. The US is a net exporter of oil.

Did good on pennies today. Percentage wise anyway.... Too chicken to wager a lot but I made a few hundred.

But the market in general.... think it's scared of the Iraq thing? Think it's done going down?
