I’m waiting for the call from work to ask me to come back in honestly . Sure I’ll happily sit down and supervise everyone
Honestly I’m not too concerned, I’m back to school in a couple weeks so I’ll be busy anyways... oh and I bought a Prius so my gas bill is non existent :p

Smart...I'm looking at getting a commuter soon. We're going to need one eventually with the baby aside from just my wife's car. Xtra cab Tacoma ain't gonna cut it. Looking at possibly a new manual 4door Corolla hatchback, they look good and aren't expensive.
Tempted to buy new...between my truck always needing work and my wife's Accord needing something every now and then, a car with a warranty sounds awesome lol.

Drove one of those corollas at work. Love it, reminds me of a Mazda3 except toyota. I think one of the variants gets something crazy like 50 mpg right?
Thanks I appreciate it. Yaaa probably wait a good month or so after surgery until I’m wheeling again.

The manual Scion iM (aka Corolla Hatch since Scion got dead) gets 28 city, 37 highway. If it's empty, being driven by a 93lb operator, with a tailwind, at 47mph. The standard Corolla sedan (different model all together than the hatch) is available in a hybrid trim for the first time in 2020, gets 50ish mpg combined.

    FIFY :crapstorm:

Edit: oh yeah, almost forgot, hope you feel better man, hernias are no joke. Superstition still happening?

So the hybrid model isn’t available as a hatchback? Aww. Ya I’m out for superstition and all other wheeling probably until at least April unless I can get my surgery bumped up.
Was debating on saying something on the superstition thread :notsure:

Edit: EVs are cool and all but I’m only a couple thousand into that Prius vs buying a newer ev that devalues so :luvya:

yep, that's Coxey aka 3N14. That was maybe 2 miles into it, still kind of in the high desert area and not quite getting into Big Bear yet.

Hey there socal guys! I just recently bought my first Tacoma and am completely new to off-roading. Not trying to be a pro or get too deep into it but I do want to build some basic skills and knowledge to help prepare for camping trips up in the Sierras. I'd love to hit up some of the local socal trails and get some tutelage from y'all.

Lots of banter in this thread... is this still the thread to watch if I want to join in on monthly trail runs?

yeah this thread is active for runs, I don't think the monthly meet up aspect is accurate like it was over summer...but we all still get out and hit trails when we can, and usually post about them here first.

Banter keeps the thread alive IMO just have to keep eyes peeled for meet up info when it arises...usually threads that don't have much banter get forgotten in the vast depths of TW

I was probably going a little too fast once we hit the Green Valley section of the day, but I was afraid of us losing daylight and being on that trail in the dark..we cut it pretty close lol

If I planned a Palomar Divide to Borrego Springs/metal sculptutes, would anyone be interested? I've been wanting to run this route myself for awhile, I've never seen the sculptures out there. Mainly just always passed through on the way to/from Ocotillo. The route would look something like this:

Begin > Highpoint > Palomar Divide > 79N > Puerta La Cruz > Indian Flats > 79S > San Felipe Rd > Montezuma Valley Rd > Borrego Springs & Sculptures > Yaqui Pass Rd > Grapevine Canyon > Montezuma Valley Rd > End
    Palomar to Borrego.jpg

Edited to include Grapevine Canyon Rd on the return trip. Jasper Trail and Old Culp are also options depending on time.

Open to suggestions from others who have been on these trails as well!

Thanks! BTW, I didn't mean banter in a bad way... I just scrolled back through a handful of pages and didn't see anything about organizing runs so just wanted to confirm. I'll try to keep an eye out here and jump on something if I'm free.

I'd be interested, but I'm nearly all stock, so the trails would need to friendly that way. I've done Palomar a few times and need to study the route.
