Ditch Lights with Snorkel

I’ve got the Dobinson snorkel and looking to get some ditch lights. I’m partial to Baja designs.

Looking for light recommendation and ditch bracket that will still allow the hood to open fully without rubbing on the snorkel.

 

I am rolling s2 as ditch lights with CBI brackets and Dobinsons. You can still get the hood up with these.
Hit up Erick @state48overland he will get you hooked up. I would use Rago Design brackets if I were to do it again, as they are a better fit.

 

I have the same snorkel with Cali raised brackets and Cali raised side shooters with no clearance issues.

I’m running CBI brackets with KC Flex. You will have to drill the CBI hole a bit bigger for the KCs. No clearance issues with the snorke.

I forgot to mention that I had a set of Squadron Pros as ditch lights before the snorkel was installed.
I had a set of s2 Pros that I was going to put on another truck, but tried them out on the Taco after the snorkel went on.
I like the look of the s2 lights better in that position and they put out plenty of light for the purpose.
I would just get a set of s2 and save a little money vs their larger lights.

 

Curious to how often you actually use the snorkel? Is it just me or does the snorkel really take away from the look of the truck. I get if you actually need one but dunking my truck and engine under water enough times to actually need a snorkel seems like a good way to take years off a truck. I need some education on this since I do see quite a few in land bound Nebraska.

 

The snorkel really is used/made for dirt roads. By pulling the air from above your cab vs the wheel well on a dirt road, keeps your filter clean.
Having one installed purely for water crossings is something that would be done only if you had to forge a river on a regular basis.
As far as the looks, that’s a personal thing.

 

Nebraska doesn't have lakes, streams, creeks, rivers etc?

 

Love mine. Useful not only in dunking underwater (as you mentioned) but useful in desert dusty environment. Looks good too . Completes the look in my opinion. Either you like it or not. Got compliments on mine.

 

Yea we have plenty but nothing so exciting I would add a snorkel to my truck to use it once every 5 years.

 

I never thought of the dirt road thing learn something new everyday.

 

Maybe other people have more of a use for it, or they just like it.

 

I have traveled pretty much every inch of this state and a snorkel is so far down in the list of things needed for this state to add onto a truck. But if you like it go for it. I really get the desert state guys now never knew it made that kind of a difference.

 

It’s one of those things...ya don’t need it until ya need it kinda thing.
Got mine for $250 from Dobinsons, and have dedicated my taco for camping.
At this point my taco doesn’t even look like a taco, and that does make me a little sad lol
