I bought a 2006 Tacoma from a dealership less than a week ago in NY. I took it to a mechanic and he said that the car had a lot of rust on the chassis and was a danger to drive. I signed a 30 day warranty (lemon law) and so am bringing it back to the dealer tomorrow (along with the mechanic report, plus a pic of the rust-see below). Has anyone had the experience where they didn't do their due diligence and messed up like this? Just looking for any guidance on making my case to these shady salespeople.

Demand all your money back. The dealership will most likely not argue with you, they will put it back for sale and screw someone else over (unfortunately).

Start drafting a letter to the attorney generals office.
Don’t let the shady dealer try and tell you that they’ll fix it for you.

Dang that's terrible, were you not aware of the rust issues these frames have before you purchased?

It's a dudette all, not a dude. So my guess is no, she had no clue about the frame issues or motor mount problems.

Not sure what the OP’s anatomy has to do with her knowledge of frame rust. Before I went Tacoma shopping I was uneducated on the issue, was fortunate to have a Taco owner at work warn me.

Anyhoo...carla, once you get a response from the dealer please don’t leave us hanging. We like hearing how stories end.

And if the response is anything other than getting all your money back, the folks here will provide you with multiple avenues of approach.
