New guy here. Had a 99 4runner but as you can see drunk driver went through the yard a totalled it. Now have a 96/97 Tacoma ext cab 5 speed . The hub bearings suck. Lol. Got for a grand with a burnt valve, so upper half is new (valve job). Doing a little at a time to get it back to being reliable. Struts going on this wkend.
Figured id introduce myself. If any one has any insight on this tacoma please let me know. Lol

The hub bearings are notoriously tight, and you need a big press for them. I hear that even a 20 ton will struggle. Save yourself the trouble and take your spindles to a shop and have them done.

    Welcome to the adiction!

I've never done wheel bearings on a Tacoma, but did drivers side front on an '08 Prius last summer. (Iowa salty winters) Maxed out a 50 ton press, and had to beat on the press table to get the bearing to start moving. Good luck.

you know, i wonder if that is one of the issues my old '96 Corolla is having in the front, all wobbly and that... thought it was alignment or wheel balance off
a wheel bearing maybe is shot :notsure:
