wiring without the pushbutton appears to be easier. and the truck may even be prewired in the interior. it would just be engine harness side that likely isnt

if you wanted to do a quick check for prewiring in the dash harness, pull the passenger kick panel, find the transmission control relay and see if the wires in that diagram are present in your connector... i have a good feeling they will be... i mean hell my tundra was prewired for power locks, windows, keyless entry for fucks sake

Weird observation.... Tomato juice makes coffee taste like warm water...

Also I saved $200+ dollars on a set of 5 new tires and got a raise

    Good day

Weren't the older ADD 1st gens engaged via a vacuum system vs the newer push button ones electronically with the actuator? I thought that was how the j shift worked but I could be off

Where is this actuator located on the vehicle?

So I guess really you're not positive if you're going ADD or Manual hubs?

Yes and no. I have the vac and jshift, you could have electric add and jshift too. The case engages first so it don't matter what the add is

    That is true?

But wondering what extra components are involved since something has to tell the ADD system "hey..the dude moved the J shift to 4H"

Gotcha ok so the J shift isn't exclusive to the vacuum operated system, that's where I got mixed up

the case has a sensor that sends a signal to the 4x4 ecu or w/e to tell the ADD to activate.

@Empty_Lord silicone spray and those exhaust hanger pliers worked unbelievably well

Not a tool I will be needing a lot but when I need it it will be so handy to have

So with all that being said, I still don't know why Mike is dilly dallying in this thread and not buying those 4x4 components I tagged him on earlier :boink:
