Anyone on hear familiar with Drive-in Autosound? Looking to buy a new hu and found the best deal here. I see they have a lot of refurbs and don’t want that. Wondering if they’re a reputable place? Thanks.

Curious if any contractors or electricians on here could tell me what wiring to run for an electric vehicle charger to my garage. I don’t own one yet but my wife really wants an electric vehicle. I am finishing up parts of my house now and figure this is the best time to run the wiring before everything gets sealed up.

I think that is going to be dependent on the vehicle. I think the largest home charger is going to draw 50amps if memory serves

Find out what amperage the charger draws and if it’s 110 or 220 voltage. Then you can determine the correct wire gauge for the distance from the panel to charger.

It’ll be 220, and I’d run the wire for 50. Worst case, you can use it for some extra fun shop tools. I’m looking at doing the same thing, we have a leaf for our daily driver, and I have the charger, just haven’t got motivated to run the cable yet, and have a lot more research to do before then.

Thanks @Martyinco and @Farcedude, I’ll plan on the 220 / 50 amp but will keep researching it as well.

Confirm you want 220v, 110v will not completely charge any EV overnight and thus gradual ruin your battery life Per long time Tesla owner and electrical engineer I know. Amps is all dependent on charger used, the higher the faster it will re-charge battery.
