I guess worst case is you take your stuff off the top/sides and polish it like any other piece of aluminum. Should be easy since the Drifter is sturdy enough (Phil sized) :) to support someone on top polishing it. I looked into ceramic coating the bare aluminum. While it is a slightly better option then just polish and wax it will still wear off and need to be cleaned and reapplied.

    So did I.
    My order date: 2/8/19.
Heck with spring. I'm looking forward to a solo trip in February in the northwest hitting a bunch of indy ski areas.
Then plan on traveling south to Florida with my wife in March.
    Then...?

We’re going to head to do the Mojave road once I get it then up to my dad’s outside Death Valley for our first trip. Wouldn’t really wanna go there past April. End of February beginning of March is a perfect time for me work and weather wise.

Third gen stock bed caps are fine to use, but the relentless bed caps that Vagabond offers don’t conflict with the TC stiffeners

It might have been me, my original order date was March 19 so mine is probably a month out from yours. I also want the solid aluminum rear hatch and told them that I would be willing to wait an additional month if it would be enough time to get it, otherwise im fine with the regular glass hatch.

I can get a pic of mine which is now part way through a Utah winter. I didn't get it powder coated at all and it hasn't been washed recently either; it still looks great. High quality aluminum really doesn't need a protective coating...

Thanks for all the info on the bare aluminum.
Seems like if you can get over the initial oxidation you should be set after that.

I do really like the two tone look with the bare metal on top. Everything coming out of the shop has looked great with that scheme.

Yea, aesthetically I would've loved to do black on the bottom and silver on top. It just wasn't worth the money for me though.

We’ve decided to go another year without a swing out for many reasons. We’ll reevaluate after this season. Someone asked what we all do with the drifter. We love to hike, and are instead going to invest in some ultralight backpacking gear ($$) to do 1-2 night trips out. It’ll be awesome to come back to a bed and some creature comforts at the end of a hike. It will also be awesome to extend our reach into the wilds.

Do you have GPS routes? I doesn’t sound that hard to follow, but I just like to have the red line to follow.
