Deer hunting BS thread

Every time we've ever done man drives, whoever is doing the driving part never stops hollering, and we try to keep tabs on where everyone is at all times VIA yelling and walkie talkies.

 

We used to do drives . I’ve been on drives from 3 people to 25 people .Just nowhere to do too many drives anymore . I’m not against it but I prefer hunting alone or with one other person .

 

There are lots of people that just grab a gun and go hunting without fully understanding that safety is the #1 most important thing to learn when handling a gun. Fortunately, most of us know this and realize the consequences can be dire. Unfortunately, some of us don't. That's why I stick to bowhunting.
However this happened, prayers to the family that lost that man and his child.

 

Not to stir the pot but was the father and daughter wearing blaze orange in the first place? Not saying its their fault but maybe it could have made the shooter stop and look.. Either way terrible situation. When I take my daughter out I always make her wear her annoying neon pink clothes.

 

Illegal to do deer drives in my state.

 

But not illegal to drive into/over deer

 

not illegal but not cost effective but you can salvage the deer or animal, Ive salvaged quite a few in the last few years.

.my farmer neighbor ran a guy off a few times and damn if he didnt come back and put up a hang on stand on the property..soo,my neighbor needing firewood next year went up and dropped the damn tree with the stand in it, left it lay to block up later..i laughed till i cryed..

 

Well our deer season all goes out tommorow,our group tex for our lease the youngins are fired up for shed season.our county is No Bait during the season,but can feed from after tommorow till Sept 1st.they all been to the co-op,plus a ton of trail mix from NC.they feed heavy with cameras on the feed and trails..when they see bucks that have dropped they backtrack the trails and the area and find sheds..I swear they get more fun out of it than hunting sometimes.

 

Friend just sent me this from here in NC up towards Virginia, said he lost his two biggest bucks to diseases this year.

 

CWD or bluetongue.Northern VA has CWD. laws are set up
to try to keep or slow its spread. what i call blue tongue is EHD or something comes from bug bites in certain areas. weve been clear in our area. hate that

Stupid question maybe...did he look for the deer? I'd probably try to find him and keep the antlers as a keepsake. Either way, that's pitiful to see.

 

I don’t know, I’ll see him in a week or two and I’ll ask him. Ida looked for them too.

 

new deer showed up. never seen him before. hope he stays. 3 1/2 im guessing
