    I like my 08!
I’ve had it since 11 and put close to 150k on it since.
New frame, suspension, body mounts, rack and tie rods etc no wonder she gets pissy about it!
Very few nanny features atrac etc.
manual all the way windows and locks included.

The local Toyota dealer is in a city of 20K people and even they have more than one mechanic.

I’m at the dealer. They apologized, owned the mistake and offered me a new chassis, dealer installed. Thoughts?

I think that’s reasonable of them. I’d also see what else you can get them to fix that your independent inspection found.

I'd want to see an estimate on what they expect to replace. Changing a chassis is not like pulling apart legos, there are other things under there that will break in the process, and they may want you to pay for that.

I think I would try to return the truck.

That’s cool they had to do something!
Now if your getting a new frame ask about the loaner situation.

Do some reading on frames here and ask about having parts you supply installed for free.

shocks, bushings, lower steering shaft, etc!
I was stressing about my frame swap but it went amazing and is like new or better actually.

Good luck glad it worked out sort of.

Double on this, more problems if maintenance wasn’t done right, half assed one placed is half assed all over the places. Get out and find another that’s been cared for, a dealer car is more expensive because it should be taken care or repaired, this one is not. They didn’t even look at it or they did and didn’t care, both bad news about the rest of the truck

Do you mean that thry offered you a new frame and associated hardware that would be done during a frame replacement??

I'm still concerned because they sold you the truck in the first place!!

How many miles on your truck
Are they going to do all replace parts on typical frame swap
What if they break stuff will they replace for free?

Depending on what the budget is and how much you like the truck. I'd take the frame swap assuming they could get me in a loaner at their cost.

There are some that will demand a bar of gold and a pound of diamonds like some sort of Karen

What do they mean by chassis? The whole frame, rear leafs, engine mounts....?

Is it a 4.0? If so, have them do the head gaskets too.

But not really- demand your $$$ back plus a bonus not to post their name here...

My advice would be cut and run.

As rusty as that undercarriage looks, and a-lot of the other rusted components wouldn’t be replaced.
