What happens to the factory tweeters if I replace the factory 6x9s with a 6.5" in the front doors? If I wanted to upgrade the tweeters too, can I just drop a new set in? (using the correct adapters of course)

No, I have the non-JBL, but will be putting the AVIC Z120-BT in next week. No amp, just 14w X 4 RMS :)

6.5" components in the front doors is what I was thinking and 2-way 6.5" for the rear doors, Is there a factory x-over some where?

undercover tonneau ,bug deflector, removal of all tacoma emblems added a set of component speakers behind the rear seat egr in channel window visors
i took the tweeter off the bracket its on and altered the bracket some to fit the new tweeter worked like a charm , only thing i recommend is painting the bracket black so ya cant see it behind the tweeter grill on door .

OK, So I just want to drop in aftermarket tweeters, and component 6.5" woofer in the door using the factory woring, powered by the AVIC z120BT only. What protects the tweeters/woofers then? Do some have built in crossovers?

I am trying to avoid running my own speaker wire.

Almost all component sets come with the crossovers.
