No we are definitely not 1 family. 3rd gen folk are a different breed. A mutation occured here back in 2016. Oh, btw, spacer lifts are terrible. 5100's cost less than some spacers.

    Prove it.
5100's don't lift anything unless the springs are changed or the preload on the sprnigs are turned up which changes the ride quality. But I don't judge so if someone wants a lifted truck with a worse ride than stock to each their own.

Several mistakes were made on this video.
    1. It isn't completely stock with spacers and blocks because it has high caster UCA's.
    2. Wear your seatbelts.
    3. I measured the incline at 4.7 degrees but a county road sign states it's 6.

So you’re saying that by preloading and shortening the spring by compressing it with the clip at the top setting, it’s creating lift?
How do you create lift when the spring is shorter? You don’t.
    Think about it.
Yes, the spring is compressed more and is shorter on the shock in the top position with the coil-over off of the truck.
But, when the weight of the vehicle is on the spring, the spring becomes even shorter, and is then the same length at all circlip positions.
Now, the bottom tube of the shock is longer. That is what creates the lift.
The spring is the same length as before. The length of the shock below the spring is greater. The longer shock below the spring lifts the truck. The spring doesn’t lift the truck. It can’t. It’s the same length.

Same spring at all settings. Same length of spring at all settings with weight of truck on spring.
Shock tube below spring is longer at position #5, creating the most lift.

Look at length of dotted line from bottom to top, at arrow. It’s longer at position #5.

And remember, as you drive, the spring changes length, compressing and extending around the top shaft of the shock, which is sliding in and out of the bottom tube.

Fact, not fiction. That’s how Bilstein and others make it work.

Let’s agree with this. To each there own. Spacer lift , suspension lift. Whatever person picks it’s there choice. Tired of the stupid arguing that goes on with what lift people pick.

I had KONI yellow on my old civic. They are the highest rated and some of the most expensive shocks on the market...They use the same circlip design as the bilstein. Adjustable ride height. Boy did they not disappoint and boy were they a HUGE improvement over stock.

I've run bilstein 5100 on more trucks than I can count. I currently have $800 6112 bilstein up front of my Taco. Those have adjustable ride height. I guess I should just throw away my 6112 and install some spacers.

More legit than a spacer lift. That's fact.

I don't get spending this much money on a nice truck and then tossing on the cheapest option possible.

I was interested in honest exchange in this thread but the stoner talk... I just can’t. It’s too obnoxious, like a 50 year old that still gets drunk every night. Maybe I’m just not a drug guy?
