I'm looking to paint my 97 Tacoma, does anybody have a good paint idea? I'm leaning on sport yellow with TONKA decals. It's black now, but the paint is bad from all the years of trail riding and it was kinda whacked in the side the other day, i got a new bed but its white so now its time for new paint too.

if your gonna do tonka then you need to do it right ha ha ive only seen them in flat yellow.. my old mud bog truck was like that.. but it had 40's on it. im debating on either painting my entire truck flat black or just the hood and roof.. you could always linex it..

linex is really hard to keep clean, Im not sure what flat yellow would look like. Yellow is a hard color to get right, it is easy to get it too easter or too road department yellow, i'm looking for the sport yellow.

Yeah thats what I would do but I just need to pick a color, my high school colors are orange and black, I thought about a orange paint job with linex rockers. Ilike the linex rocker look even for the tonka idea. I think the black rockers would set it off. Here is a pic of my truck, it was wet and clean when this was taken its much more scratched than that when dry.

There's also a TRD Xrunner that toyota did up. It was yellow and looked good, IMO. I would desribe the color as Ferrari yellow.

I wouldn't do it unless your truck looked like either one of those seriously modded tacos. I would just do yellow paint and nothing else.

A yellow tacoma with Tonka stickers on it would look awesome, if the truck was built for the image... Im talking a good lift with some big tires... Just a leveling kit and 31's or so would look kinda cheesie..

The yellow one I posted is not mine... I think it was black to start with if i remember right, saw the post a while back and just had to find it to link it all.
