I doubt the police would even charge you with arson if you explained what happened. :D

I’ll avoid the trouble and just not get a spider. I’m intrigued by them but I’ll just settle for looking at them on this thread.

Absolutely. I've used this site before and like them: https://www.backwaterreptiles.com/ Their expedited shipping charge is the same if you buy 1 animal or 2+. What tarantula are you thinking about getting? I ask because some species are definitely not beginner-friendly. :D

My wife hates spiders, we'd never have one as a pet...if we did and it got out she WOULD burn the house down with me in it...LOL

Well seeing as how I have no kids, and geek out when I get into shit, I wouldn't shy away from a non-beginner friendly species.

With that being said, I want a big mother fucker

Here's a big MF that is still beginner friendly: https://www.backwaterreptiles.com/tarantulas/brazilian-giant-salmon-tarantula-for-sale.html Now if you are dead set on getting one then get a female as they are larger than males and live for much longer. But the ones they currently have for sale are only 3/4" and they can take years to get full sized.

I just noticed that posts on this thread do not increase your post count. Just me or is that just how it is??

Dag nabbit!!! I do not like spiders at all!!!...and yet I keep coming to this thread and just clicked on that damn link!!

Ok, curiosity has me fascinated with these big hairy girls, but I will not get into this cuz I am broke as all hell. You have done the species of tarantulas a good deed by showcasing them! Bravo!

:D I've loved spiders (and all creepy crawlies) ever since I was a little kid. It really is a fun hobby ... but of course not for everyone. Despite being initially scary tarantulas, and spiders in general, really are amazing beautiful creatures. Just check this out ... and NO this pic is not photoshopped:
