    got some ideas, you got any 3" x3"x12" mesquite rounds dry? I bet that would look good as salt and pepper mills

    I have about a half a cord of mesquite. How big around do the Need to be to start.

    at least a 2.5" diameter or up to 3.5" diameter by at least 12" long for a 10" mill. no cracks preferably I can fill some in but big ones tend to split the wood. When I take it down on the lathe it gets thinner and round so thats why it needs to be over the 2.5" diameter

    around here fish and game are worthless in a sense...for instance I called them to check on an injured moose by the highway. Fish and game office says "oh we dont care if its hobbling on 3 legs" but I said its near the highway...basically she said they dont care. BUT if I was to call and say theres 2 guys poaching a moose they'd have all the game wardens in the area, state police, sherrif, FBI etc come in.
