I got some mesquite firewood, also have a bunch of the spalted pecan.

 

that Pecan is prob one of the nicest turning woods ive found yet! I bought 4 blocks off of ebay. Just to try out, the pics dont pick of the true colors of the pieces.

 

I hit a Wild Turkey with my Truck in High School and it broke the windshield. The guy coming the other direction stopped and told me he wanted it. I told him to go find his own Turkey to run over.

 

some people dont want stuff they just hit, some people will get into a fist fight over it...LOL we had an elk get hit by the end of our road and my cop friend called me and said if I wanted it to get down there right away. its only about 3 miles to the highway. Well by the time we get there people were already asking about who gets the elk. My cop friend said it was already taken/claimed( by me)

 

Got a big piece split and saw the grain, set it aside for my uncle that makes knives for handles. He’s running it through his bandsaw to make blanks.

 

thats nice looking! it is softer when its spalted but can be worked just have to be more careful.

 

I was thinking the same thing ?

 

None of the stuff I have is cut, it was intended for firewood but it’s so pretty I don’t want to burn it.

 

Its softer because its decaying

There's deer out here, we just didn't see any today. The other stand saw a dozen this morning and 2 small ones this evening. Soon....

Also, we have an extension and can shoot till Tuesday after the end of general season tomorrow according to the hunters here. The others have to go home tomorrow(minus one), so it's basically just me and my TW guide till Tuesday lol
