Nope shocks don't lift. 5100s verses OME shocks don't do anything.

It really could be that they just crapped out on you right after install. It's stupid that headstrong and other companies are spreading false crap about these coils being okay for our truck. I'm boycotting headstrong because of ignorance.

So basically you guys are saying I’m screwed? Lol. What do I do? I doubt they’ll let me return them.

Whoa totally disagree on the coils. OME makes nice coil springs.

Your going to need to get some hub to fender measurements. Compare with peoples stock. With 887, etc. otherwise you could probably sell them for a small loss to a gen 2 truck and get your self the 888. Good luck

I feel like if I did, they would say not to use them with anything other than ARB struts, like said on their website

If it were me I would remove and raise the clip position on the 5100. 1 or 2 positions up. That's just IMO.

    Or return and get 888.

Let me rephrase that. OME coils not being rated for our truck weight compared to the 2nd gen truck weight creates a crap situation that companies have been capitalizing on. Same product, different vehicle, profit.

My 888s sagged almost 3/4" after 5 months. No weight up front either.

I contacted ARB directly. They gave me the run around before I finally decided to buy small spacers to gain back the lift I lost from the coils that weren't meant for the 3rd gen.

Maybe there is an issue with 3rd gens. I had OME 885 + 5100 on my 4th 4runner. Could hit a dip or jump so fast. I really liked that set up.

3rd gen is 400# heavier than 2nd gen, however, all companies are still pushing OME coils with 590# spring rate for the 3rd gen.

That’s what I think I’m gonna do. I ordered 1.5 in spacers. Is this okay to do?

I put the 887's/5100's on at 22,000 or so. I am now at about 55,000. Loving it!

You really need to get us some measurements. Ground to fender including tire type as well as rim width. And center hub to fender as best you can.
We need to know exactly how much lift you got.

I've been on 600# coil springs 6112 bilstein. Been about 1 year. My bumper is arriving soon so I will need to bump that up to 650#. Stock Tacoma is fine at 600# coil.

That is a true and false statement. It can be true and it can be false. Haha. It really just depends. Shit my Dakar leaf springs came with a damn + sign on them meaning they would give a little more lift than advertised because that's real life. Too bad OMEs coils couldn't give us that heads up. Lol
