Idk i did a bunch of research and the 887 with 5100’s were supposed to do the trick.

6112 bilstein are beast mode if you could save up. OME is a great option as well. Most people have had luck with the 888 OME.

Those measurements are consistent with a 1.5" lift ... that's what 887s re rated for on the low side I think

Yah from what I understand about the 3’rd gen front measurements you’re on the low end of what 887’s are advertised to give you....based on your current center hub->fender readings.

Oh man. Maybe I’m just stupid. But 2 inches on my older truck looked wayyy taller than 2 inches on this truck.

Yeah different shaper fenders might make it look different to your eye. Understandable. Glad you didn't waste your money on no lift though. Worst case, small spacers are very cheap and an easy way to get another 1/2" of lift to a better height for your liking.

886 coils I would assume based on the spring rate

I just ordered a pair of 1.5 inch spacers on Amazon. Smallest ones I could find. Is it okay to run those on oem UCAs? What should I look out for?https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Y1HONXS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_q1yeEbT0SH2DE

Try raising the clip on the 5100, that's free. You will probably be over 3" with that spacer and likely need UCAs.

You're doing this instead of the OME coils?

I’d rather not raise it to prevent from stiffening the ride

Hmmm I'm not sure I would do that. There's a chance you lift it too much. Are you 4wd?

Spacers will stiffen the ride. Might as well just use the clip.
3” is a lot. You’ll most likely have uca issues, driveline issues, needle bearing issues, etc

    @Dr. Emmett Brown

I’m just going to contribute this...adding spacers to a lift is not a good idea and is called stacking a lift. Why you would do this on a nice Tacoma you spent or are spending a lot of money on is beyond me. Most 4wd shops will not recommend this either.

As for coils, Eibach make some of the best coils available. And, as far as lifting goes, it is true the 3rd gen Tacoma weighs more and has a slighter longer nose than the second gen (think fulcrum here. Which is why the stock coils are 700#, but on a VERY softly valved Bilstein shock. If you are bone stock but run firmed valved shocks you could probably get away with 600#. With my coilovers setup I run 700# coils with just a lo-pro bumper and sliders. That being said, when I send them in for the re-build I’m going to try the 650lb spring to get real world comparison knowledge. I will still keep the 700# coils though. Something to remember too is that a standard 13” length 600/650/700# coil will feel and behave differently than an extended 14” coil of the same lb rating.

I recommend 650# coils to people with aftermarket shocks so that the weight of the vehicle does not sag over time. And if you get a bumper (as long as it isn’t over 150lbs or so that should still be ok....depending what else is on the rig. When I had my OME lift I lost about 1/5-5/8” over the course of the year from the coils (2888’s) not being strong enough. Keep in mind I ran OME and they preload the snot out of their shocks to get the lift, plus they are designed for heavy overlanders rigs anyways (Australia). And finally, I do believe OME takes shortcuts to get their product to market and does not test as they should from gen to gen.

This is my truck now with 700# (14” ext travel) coils and 1.5” lift in front.

I went with the 5100s on the 2” setting with my stock coils and the ride is perfectly fine with exactly 2” lift. I think alot of times people really overthink this stuff.

if you think about it the 5100s and OME coil combo isn’t something the original companies intended for.
