There is another update I found after that. It changes the UI and adds split screen functionality. I just added it this morning. They had them listed on their Facebook.

Haha I'm having massive issues attempting to update the unit. I've downloaded the updates. Formated the USB drive. Not quite sure what "rooting the flash drive means". I unzipped the files and tried moving the files to the unit. I also tried restarting the device but it's just keeps saying "no mcu file found".

    :poking:

What am I doing wrong? haha.

For the MCU unzip and only put the .img file on the USB then go to settings and update. I did mine last night.

Let me look. The update also changed the UI look and feel. I did not expect that. B when you hit the button to show all open apps if you hold you can drag and do split screen.

    let me find the link

Hey Robert, when you say changes the UI, is this the one that changes it completely to the other home page?

That file you posted has both the IMG and the ZIP. I just did the newest ZIP that Iris sent me..

I've got this IMG on a thumb drive, would love to see the pic for sure before I apply it..

    thanks,

Yah you just put the zip on or that img. The zip is what updates the looks an split. The one I posted changes The UI and adds split screen. I got it from them as well.

A couple photos of the diff look and the split screen.

I figured give it a try. I had updated probably with the same one they sent you but saw this when someone asked about split screen.

I see your using the vlc player, are you running downloaded videos or through another device? I've been trying to hook up a fire stick and haven't had any luck. I even bought a AV to HDMI harness that didn't pan out.

That was running off a hard drive plugged into the USB port. I plugged it in to see if it worked or not and it did. Another guy was able to get a rasberry Pi to work so the conversion should work just may be not the fire stick. Which AV to HDMI harness did you get?

Oh right on. I purchased this guy from eBay to run with a HDMI port I rigged a few weeks back.

    Screenshot_20200106-002757_eBay.jpg
    20200106_002857.jpg

My first swing at it: I thought I could plug it in the HDMI outlet on the back of unit before I realized it was and "output" lol.

Swing two: I then moved on and tried to use the AV/CAM harness that came with the unit with the eBay harness and no luck. I tried multiple video players too but nada. Kinda frustrating haha

ah gotcha. I did the same thing for the rear so you are not alone. Someone on here like I said got some raspberry or some video game console to work so its possible. I cant recall which thread it was on since there have been a couple for these Dasaitas. Did you make the HDMI port or buy it? If so where did you get it? I would not mind having an HDMI in since we have 3 USB Inputs.

If you come back across it let me know!

I purchased a bunch of these USB outlets/ports and a male to female HDMI cord. Pulled out the USB cord and replaced it with the HDMI cord. Also used E600 adhesive.

    Here's the eBay item numbers:

    HDMI: 163798184026

    USB ports: 183910299262

Thanks I like the idea of the square but I did come across this one. HDMI and USB in a round if you are not using all the cigarette plugs (I am but another option)
