2008 DCLB 4.0 prerunner 166k miles. I get 19.5 - 21mpg all the time. Admittedly not a lot of stop and go driving and I tend to be easy on the gas pedal.

Im now getting around 19-20 also 2010 DCSB I achieved this after changing the plugs cleaning the MAF and throttle body new air filter removed the rusty trailer hitch and made sure all tires are at 40psi. And i run duratracs tires. The key I found is when you’re on the highway keep it just at 70 or under

The best average I’ve ever had was 22mpg city driving v6 DCLB

I also have a gauge that tells me my instant mpg and average mpg. I usually keep an eye on it to see how the truck consumes gas, I do easier steady accelerations from stops, once the engine is warmed up and if driving on flat roads I tend to do 23.5mpg or better

my first fill up was about 15.1 mpg i think 193 miles for 12.8gallons. (it was showing about 150 miles for 1/2 tank). pretty certain the previous owner used 87.

i put in 89 and for this tank, i'm already at 132mile for just past 1/4 tank, so i'm thinking i'll be around 17+ mpg. mostly highway, but my city driving includes small hills... and i'm just learning how the truck coasts and how much throttle to give, too.

With the 6 speed MT, 1.75" lift, 32x11.5" tires, and a camper shell the most I've ever gotten was 17 mpg highway. I average roughly 15, 16 if I drive like a grandma. Sorry, can't comment on stock gas mileage but I'm sure it's better than that by quite a bit.

2015 prerunner avg. 19-20 with 285/70/17. Mostly hwy driving posted speed. If I drive 10 over the posted speed it drops to about 16mpg. ( I blame it on my steel toe shoes)

I usually got 15-18 mpg with my old 05. Mostly 17-18. Worst I ever recorded was 13.8 with short trips in the cold Wyoming winter. Best maybe 20.5 or 21. That was once in a great while.

My current 2010 is basically the same setup, DCSB 4x4 OR. It does not have a topper like my 05 did though. I’ve only measured 2 tanks, one 17.9 and one 16.8 I think. So almost the same mileage so far.

Try to keep it under 2000 rpm....use less breaking power by coasting to lights.

I can normally get about 24 highway, 18 City on my 2008 X, but that's driving with a fairly light foot. I can also get much less too...lol

The X has two things going for it here: (1) it is a 4x2, so I'm not driving the front wheels, and (2) it sits a little lower than a standard Tacoma reducing wind resistance.

I only get 17 but I have a hitch and aftermarket bumper on the back that adds weight. I also have a fairly heavy foot.

Just got 20.16 on a long highway run. Not too bad considering the winter blend gas. I kept my speed at 65.........

This... long highway runs under 70mph I can get 20. Around 72-75 I can get 19+.

The long trip out to Vegas nets me my highest mileage as long as I stay in the right lane.

~16.5 mpg on dirt/gravel/rocky roads driving mostly below 35 mph.
~18.5 mpg light off road, regular city and highway driving. I would say this is about average.
20-21 mpg on long interstate runs. Basically gas station to gas station. Seems like it takes a tank full or two for it to get into high mileage mode. I rarely drive like this so it's only half good news.
I try to keep it under 2K, not use the brakes too much. Rarely go over 65 mph. I spend most of the time in the right lane but the mileage is significantly better and easier on the truck.
