Yes sir. 2016 Canadian truck. The local dealership just got a new CRC machine just in time I guess.

Hoping they would have had this resolved by 3rd gen. Can see now its definately intentional.

It's a frame drying apparatus then a frame coating is applied for protection. No frame jobs jet on 16+ trucks.

Delaership me mentioned the drying and prep. My letter mentioned frame replacemements if necessary...

I dont remember my 2007 going through this process back in 2016

It cost Toyota a lot of cash replacing frames on the old trucks. They had a policy of replacing frames on Tacomas regardless of the condition of the truck. Our dealership had one a couple of years ago that was probably worth $2,500 bucks. The truck shouldn't even have been on the road. Toyota paid for a frame replacement and the bill was around 11K. Most of the cost of replacing the frame on the Tacomas exceeded the value of the truck. I think Toyota is trying to prevent the corrosion from starting to avoid a repeat.

My dealer replaced a frame on a 2wd Tacoma that wasn't worth $1500. Then my 2004 that everything was mint except the frame they wouldn't touch because of the rebuilt title, how that makes a difference as to why the frame rotted is beyond me. The fact that this is still an issue (since the 90's MY) is laughable

I can understand on a rebuilt title. It's all about liability. In Canada if you want to import a vehicle from the US that has a rebuilt title its prohibited.

That's not true. My Truck came from the USA with a rebuilt title. Along with many others at shop I bought it from. Also it meets the same safety inspection standards as any other vehicle and my insurance company didn't have any liability issues with it

I should be more specific, if it's flood damaged it's not allowed in.

My father in law brought a flood damaged vehicle into new Brunswick about 10 years ago from new Hampshire, maybe the laws changed :notsure:

When I got my inspection, I made an appointment. I dropped it off, walked a few blocks to a restaurant, had a nice relaxing lunch, walked back and it was done, washed and sitting in the parking lot. 2 weeks later they called me and told me Toyota Canada approved a frame swap.

Made the appointment and told me it’s going to take all day to do the inspection, scrape the frame and apply the the CRC.

When I got my inspection, I already knew there was a 12mm hole and that it was going to be a fail.

If they spray the CRC crap on it, you don’t want it back for at least a few days. Several people here have bitched about it dripping on their driveway.

    None... Yet.
Never received a letter, but got a phone call from the dealership today about the recall. Guess I had better make an appointment soon. Nearest dealership is 2 hours away which kind of sucks.

Sweet! That just for the day while yours gets sprayed? Take it four wheeling, hard! Snow or whatever. Show pics. Tell us about it.
