I had to tofu chicken chunks in my salad the other day. I was pleasantly surprised.

I got some real chicken grilling on the traeger right now though...

Folks would still say the flaws in natural meat (from prior disease and injury in the animal) make it taste better, like some folks prefer LP records.

This. And often the socket would become unstuck when torque is applied in the other direction. This is true anyway with most sockets. I've never had it happen with the filter cap (out of the 3 oil changes I've done so far).

Do any of you fill the filter cap with new oil before installation? :cookiemonster:

The high school kids at the tire shops struggle with this too, with the chrome capped lugs.

I would like to thank God, Jesus, or whoever is in charge for putting a normal oil filter on my 4 cylinder Tacoma. I’ve been “Green” since before it was cool so I don’t mind using one or two spin on filters every year.

Actually it's the increased amount of information and realistic sound that many prefer. However, there are plenty of Millenials who don't even know what to listen for and are just desperate for something cooler than their iPhone. Few of my records have any flaws, I'm picky.

Record players were still pretty common when millenials were growing up.

Between 1990 and 2000 very few people were listening to records in the Midwest, just audiophile types. CDs were hot and people abandoned their records and turntables. . By 2010 things exploded and records were back in a big way. I'm glad to see it, even though used records aren't cheap anymore. I'm lucky I built my collection when I did. I'll admit, I bought CDs until I started working at a Hi-Fi shop that sold Linn Turntables.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
Jalopnik (whatever that is) aside I see a lot of 3rd generation work trucks with the 2.7.
    Doesn’t seem irrelevant to me.

They are all over the place. Usually 2wd, Even in Chicago. Lots of Colorado 4 Cylinders as well. More than enough power for what they use them for.

    Yep.

Again this weekend.. must've been at least half a quart (or more) of oil on the ground. They can't claim it's for environmental purposes if it makes a mess every time.

Additionally this adds plastic threaded connections to the bottom of the engine. The filter 'connection' isn't as confidence inspiring with the spring loaded filter housing (We just have to assume the gap at the top of the paper filter is closed off when the plastic housing is reassembled.)

This BS might work but is more fragile, more complicated and just plain sucks. Has anyone performed 2GR flow testing on the aftermarket spin-on adapter solutions?

Oil changes are clean and quick if you have the right tools. It amazes me how people have trouble with this.

Oil bypasses the filter quite frequently, many folks would beome quite uneasy if they realized how often and how much oil does this. The bypass valve sits in the bottom of the perforated tube. Also note, the spring is not the only thing pressing on the upper seal, regular oil pressure also does.

Try my solution, if you don't like it, you can return it.

Glad I can add to your amazement of the world. I have the correct tools and have been changing oil filters on cars, trucks, aircraft, boats and motorcycles for many years.

This plastic contraption with o-rings and paper filter is weak.
