Does anyone know if they have plug And play aftermarket replacement cameras for the front and rear 2020 multi terrain view? It’s really the only thing I’m disappointed with on the truck. Extremely pixelated and grainy view. The back up camera on my 2011 TX pro had better resolution than these.

I’ve seen people running the anytime cameras (which are rad) but wondering if they would work in conjunction with the side mirror cameras to give me the birds eye view?

That's just the was it is. Maybe Bruce Hornsby will sing a song about.

The rear view camera quality sucked on earlier models

What are you doing with your cameras that require higher resolution?

well I had A 2011 Tacoma for the past 9 years with A stock back camera and it was WAY cleaner than these 2020’s. I’m just blown away with the technology out there now vs 2011 the camera quality would decline this much.

Is it the camera or the shitty Entune head unit ?

Simply trying To justify my 42K purchase

that was A thought too, but they changed the head unit for 2020? Pretty sure it’s the cameras as the clarity on the head unit is pretty sharp. With FPV drones the camera res is more important than the monitors. I would assume it would be the same in this situation. But I could be wrong

I can confirm they suck with the 2020 JBL system as well. I’d buy replacements for sure if available...

    Sorry but I had to.

The truck is still relatively new but l imagine that it's the same as the third gens.
From my understanding there is not a replacement at this time. But maybe the local trust worthy stereo friend or guy might be able to mod something.
    Good luck

It's the processing unit in the head, if they put it back in the rearview mirror or updated their shit but they don't because of buyers costs it would be clearer but everyone wants stuff like that bigger.
I enjoy it being in the mirror, for me it feels more natural looking up in the rear view mirror when backing up.

haha all good, it was the best vehicle I ever had and would be lying if I said I didn’t miss her A bit. I see Costa Mesa on your profile, are you the White tx pro cruising on the 405? (I see you bro) haha.

I’ll Forsure be heading up to the local stero shop to see if they have any remedies.

Agreed, having it in the rear view mirror, where you should already be looking, was much more natural and practical

    Better look elsewhere. lol

Also, you're supposed to justify the purchase BEFORE you purchase. This is more of a 'buyer's remorse.'

And yea, they do suck indeed. Might as well try to stream some '80's porn onto the head unit to see if it could actually get any worse.

Shit, 80’s quality was STILL a little too high res for this 2020 model.
Buyers remorse for the added $780 multi terrain view package Forsure. Still pretty pumped on the truck overall through.

Well to be fair the Pros are marked up on a premium.

That being said 40k is about the average car price. So you paid an average car price and got an average camera.

I mean the camera lens get dirty and grainy 5 mins after you clean them anyways, especially if the road is wet. Even if they put a 4K camera, it would still look grainy and low res unless you wipe the lens before every drive.
