Thanks y’all! Want to eventually get to a 400 squat, 350 bench, and 500 deadlift. Slowly but surely. Eating more and making sure I’m getting rest days.

Been thinking I need to order a set of downsized comp sleeves for my heaviest training sessions and comp day. I like mine to fit comfortably for off season stuff, but they certainly aren’t giving much tension in the hole.

I have the mark bell strong ones and like them. I cram my legs into a medium and I’d say its close to competition fit.

Do they make knee sleeves for bird leg ultra runners?
Are they like the 00 of leg sleeves?

Jon just upset because he washed his SBD’s and fucked them up. I love mine.

I ordered on the small side for competition fit though. According the their guide I would’ve ordered an XL for normal fit, or a large for comp fitting, and I have mediums.

Another thing that's kinda hard to explain but about halfway up in the squat-about when you start to slow down-try driving your chest up and hips forward. Takes alot of the load off of your lower back in the final part of the drive. If you rewatch the video I posted I think you might be able to see what I'm talking about if you are looking for it. Other than that the form looks good. Just my thinking but you might want to take off just a little weight so you can hit at least 5-6 reps or better (2 or 3 sets) for a while to strengthen everything up more. The chain is only as strong as the weakest link!

I've been using NordicLifting sleeves and have been real happy with them. Not as expensive as alot of other brands and have worked great. Had them at least 3 years or so. That said, you don't necessarily need them right now I don't think other than if your joints are cold when working out in which case you could just wear sweatpants. But that is up to you.

I do 5-6 reps with 255 and do leg extensions before warming up and going to the 3-4 rep range. Trying to get comfortable with reps on a lighter weight and putting heavier weight on towards the last sets to get used to the feel of heavier weight. In no hurry and let myself rest between sets. I think I was in the squat rack for 30 minutes today lol

I get it. Again, just offering my advice which is worth what you pay for it, lol, but confidence plays a huge roll in big lifts. You might be better of taking the heavier weight for 1 or 2 reps and really focus on exploding up with it like you want than the 3 or 4 reps where you are taxing yourself towards the end. Mentally it's a LOT easier to set up and push when you know you only have to do 1 or 2 reps than it is to have a higher rep set or worse, an open ended set! haha

That is a pro of them, but not the only reason to take them lol. Nobody would take them if that were the case - the cons outweigh the pros, by far when it comes to these drugs.

    -Increased skeletal structure and tissue
-Increased collagen synthesis (repair of connective tissues in ligaments, joints, etc)
-Increased glycogenolysis (increased glycogen to glucose - basically carb enhancement)
-Increased IGF-1 (basically HGH on steroids)
-Increased Nutrient efficiency (absorption of nutrients through food)
-Increased protein synthesis (for recovery and building of muscle)
-Increased red blood cell count (more blood, more pump, more nutrients to flow, more recovery)
-Decreased glucocorticoid production (stress hormones like cortisol)
-Decrease of SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) (this hormone binds to test and can lower the amount of free test) - free test is important because that is what our body can utilize.

    Cons - wellllllllllllllll death lol

So my company has been closed basically since Dec 18th, and today was my first day back which was also my first day of trying the gym closer to my office (Fitness Connection). My idea was that it would cut some of my commute down since I would be driving the busier roads earlier but it still took me the same amount of time to get to the gym as it does for me to get to the office in traffic so strike 1. It only took me 3 minutes to get from the gym to my office post workout, so that was nice but there were literally no other benefits. The locker room had small lockers that would not fit my bag so I had to tote it around with me, and it also had old school 'bring your own lock' style doors. Strike 2. The gym itself was too cramp and the equipment was all on top of each other. None of it was nice and somehow the mirrors made me look shorter than I am. Strike 3. It was back day, one of my favorites, and there was no where to do barbell rows and no lat pull downs aside from 1 cable extension on a large rig. Strike 4, why am I even still here. I can keep going with more from my hour long headache of a workout, but I will spare you.

Needless to say, I am cancelling and will be fighting them for my $30 joining fee as I went 1 time and it is not worth 20 cent that planet fitness would charge.

See you tomorrow Lifetime Fitness. Sorry I stepped out on you

I never tried it out. They had a good deal at the end of the year and if I took them up on the “5 day trial” I would’ve missed it. I also joined at a different location that wasn’t nearly as bad but much further away from my office. They have a 3 day cancellation policy and today happens to be day 4 so I’ll see how hard they push back on that :annoyed:

Any opinion on powerblock dumbbells vs bowflex select techs? I need to purchase more dumbbells and am getting to the point that it makes more sense to just bite the bullet and get an adjustable set.

    Currently leaning towards powerblocks.
