hey i keep hearing the noise in the rear and im pretty sure its the leaf spring but since i dont want to fix it myself i took it to dealership and they said it would cost 50 and 50 to install. is that a reasonable price? and do u guys think i will have the problem again with the new leaf springs. and btw im not under warranty.

Where in Washington are you located? If you are located near Tacoma take it to Riteway spring company. They did up my Tahoe for $60.

i know you dont want to do it yourself, but i did mine on friday in like 5 min. Save the money and try to do it yourself. Just jack up on the hitch, slide some bike tube in, set down.

The only problem is that lube is a temporary fix.

But I would think you would want something to allow the springs to move not grip. That is why the silencer pads I believe are plastic or something to that effect.

It's still a temporary fix. It won't last.

I had what sounds like the same issue.. I took it to my local tire/service shop.. They lubed it and didn't charge me anything.. 3 years later, the squeak has not come back. I would suggest avoiding the dealership for things like that..

Washing a dirty truck isn't permanent either. It's still dirty next week.

    Called maintenance ;)

Personally I spray the leafs with wheel cleaner, hit them with my wheel brush lightly and when everything is dry, spray some Teflon spray in there. For me the problem doesn't come back until I go offroading and the leafs get dirty.

    Missed the warranty part. Sorry

Now I wonder if it's worth a trip into the dealer to get this done.

Do you have a Les Schwab? I bet they would do it... I doubt the guys at Jiffy Lube have much schooling...
