Yes, OH YES! 3rd gen new members being advised to go to the Dungeon for information about lifts, tires and rust letters.

Craigslist and Facebook market place I even got one from a TW member down in Reno. Most people just want them gone. This silver regular cab is only an hour away and I just offered $300. There is still about $3000 worth of parts there.

The 01 to 04s are harder to find. The newest one I got was a 98. Most were 96

 

Holyyyyy sheet I totally forgot about the column shifter! I remember pulling cars into the bay at the dealership and I do remember a Tacoma with a column shifter...weird

 

Those are all but extinct up here. I’d love to get a business going swapping southern frames onto the oldies. But people want too much for their rotted out 95-99 trucks out here

 

i would totally convert to a column shift after having it in the tundra... so much more room for activites!


but the 4x4 would hamper that so im not.

 

@cruiserguy Do you think they'll notice the difference when I send em to the Dungeon and they find its the Dumbgen section of TW? I see lots of Calvary blue 3rd gens but few Cavalry blue ones.

 

I just sold this frame to a guy who moved from his truck from the East cost. He striped it and painted it. Looks amazing.

i have an odd enjoyment doing frame swaps. i kinda have an itch to do them.. and they've all but become non existent at work now.

 

So cool to see people still going to extremes to keep these pickups on the road. I dunno if there is a pick-up following more loyal and hardcore as first gen Tacoma and Toyota mini trucks
