I recently installed a Pioneer 2550NEX and don’t like the spot where the USB port comes out. Has anyone found any good spots for the cable/port OR a port to plug in the aux spots that has a male usb connection to plug in the back of the head unit. Thanks y’all!

Which Blue Sea System dual USB plug is that? Is it USB 3.0? Is it just for charging or did you connect it to your head unit for Android Play / Apple Car play? What type of leads does it have?

Sorry for the inquisition, but updating my head unit and want to have external USB ports to access the 1.5 amp USB ports on the headunit for both charging and data transfer.

It's just for power. I just run it off the 12v from the cigarette lighters. I've done that in every one of my cars I buy. Normally what I'll do is get some 1" copper pipe and heat it up super hot and just burn a hole straight through the plastic. It works great. :)

I have the same issue as OP. I want to find an adapter to fit these holes.

I have one just like this on the workbench, awaiting hot weather to install (it seems safer to stress plastic trim and tabs when the ambient temperature is closer to the glass transtion temperature of the polymers to guard against breaking).

I got mine from a Chinese seller on eBay -- here's a random link to one of the many available, with the voltage display in various colors and the mounting style for both instrument panel (left of steering wheel) or center console mount. I'll likely wire it into the 12V plug outlet as on my earlier Tacomas.

I'm thinking it might work easier if I use the cigarette lighter hole. It is "almost" 1 1/8". These units seem made for the 1.5 amp feeds from aftermarket stereos. The USB cord(s) are factory installed to the back of the port plug, and then terminate in USB Male to plug into the aftermarket stereo. Here are the two units I am going to try.

https://www.bluesea.com/products/1044/12V_DC_USB_Extension. Just delivered this morning. Already a VERY tight fit at 1 1/8" reportedly. I literally couldn't quite get the threads past the cigarette lighter hole in my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. It does support data and charging, even fast charging. I've only tested it through my lap top, but both data and fast charging worked. Available through Amazon as well.

    Second one ,https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MY1WDIU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Bonus two USB leads/female receptacles, as my Pioneer AVIC 8500NEX has two USB ports. Crutchfield recommended, It, reportedly also does fast charging as well as data throughput.

Fits into both the cigar lighter ( easily) and the power supply port, with a little bit of threading. Both are nice, tight fits when installed. I'll check out data and chargong later.

Does support data transfer as well as "fast charging" as checked using my notebook computer. Does fit into either the cigarette lighter or the smaller power outlet dash holes. Currently, until final checking when I have the Pioneer Avic 8500NEX initially installed/connected to further check Apple CarPlay and Android Play. The head unit does either wirelessly, but wanted to have backup verified.

I used a drill bit to grind off enough room for the HU usb cable to pass through the cubby compartment to phone. I also added a dual usb port at the center console so my wife can charge her phone. I plan on adding another for rear passengers off the rear console.
