Thanks for the video and response. Being cheap, was looking for a less expensive/lighter weight alternative to replacing the bumper.

I have a RigD. It's made well, but it is quite a bit more expensive than the Wilco swing. Check out both.

So when I get my drifter I plan on using alu extrusion to build some storage in my bed like below. I'm wanting to build much of it before pickup but the only thing I'm curious about is how I'm going to secure it to the bed. Lower parts will likely be bolted through the bed itself, but I'm trying to think how I could attach it to the lip of the camper where it clamps to the bed. Any ideas?

I have my buildout from my truck available for sale if anyone wants a shortbed buildout that’s ready to go. Made out of 8020 and Birch. Double coated in MonstaLiner.
    Let me know

I made my aluminum cabinets to rest on the bed rail on top of the camper lip. I installed threaded inserts in the truck bed to bolt in down in addition to clamping to the bed rail. It's a bit hard to see in this picture but the bed rail clamp is shown:

Why are you selling? And why is your Drifter on the ground? And why and why?

I wish I could be interested in it, but alas-No Drifter to put over it (yet) and I'm going longbed. Nice setup that someone should grab to save a bunch of time and effort.

Just making some space for another build. A little longer version.
It was a Lot of work to get it dialed in and figured out for sure.
The double coats of monsta loner make it damn near indestructible.
Come snag this and you’ll be ready when the drifter is ready! And not having the drifter yet makes it really easy to load just the way it sitting there now LOL

Not sitting in the back of the truck bolting and putting everything together does sound nice...You should put that on a scale and take a picture. Answer the second biggest question on this thread: how much does it weigh?

I have grand plans for a couple sticks of 2x2, a sheet of plywood, a saw, a tape measure, and a box of screws for my first build. Lots of cutting, hacking, tweaking and testing before I put a lot of time, effort and money into a final build. Hell, I might even live with my original build forever.

I'm a dumbass (I have been told this before). I mentioned over in the Specs and FAQ's thread that I had modified my garage to fit the Drifter. Meant to put that here on the mods thread - I figured garage mods related to the Drifter made sense. Now I see I had the wrong thread somehow. Sorry, VO guys! Someone asked for a photo, here that photo is, along with the original post that led to the photo request:

    >>Okay... has anyone else taken a saw to their garage in order to fit the Drifter inside? o_O

Yep, I already did it. The fan/deflector shield just needed another 2"... pulled the trim down to the header, notched the siding, re-trimmed on either side of the notch, scabbed in some trim inside the header box sections that were exposed, and repainted everything. Also had to modify the garage door lifting linkage. Nope, it's not pretty, or perfect - but neither is my old house/garage anyway. It looks good from the street. And most importantly, now I can work on the buildout next to my old-school gas garage heater, instead of out in the freezing Colorado nights.

    Commitment. :D<<

Jealous. Funny enough we're looking for a house now after getting the drifter so we can get a tall enough garage to fit the beast lol

Oh, I interpreted this differently. Now that I have a visual with the photo...

Yeah, I’d need to move my header up another 14” to safely move my truck in and out of my garage.

Again, if only my wife would let me (I know there is space to make it happen. I’ve inspected the attic to make sure).

    Yeah, 2", not 2'! :)

Either your garage door is really short or your Taco is really tall. Or both?

A little from column A and a little from Column B.

My garage sits at the peak of the driveway. Meaning my angle of entry is slightly askew. You’d think it would be in my favor for a lifted truck. But, with a drifter, tons of mods and bigger tires being installed this weekend... 12-14” would be a safe height for leaving the racks attached and all.

For reference. These are with 33’s. Notice the rear tires haven’t made it up onto the pad of the garage floor. The 35’s happen this weekend...

Anyone lived in their vagabonds for long periods of time?

Wanted to get insight on preferred bed set ups.
(I plan to put my fridge in my cab so I can have more room for activities)

I’m also debating on whether to get the 270 awning or a larger awning for the side that can turn into an annex for an extra room when I don’t have to urban camp.
