SOO I finally did the tune! I'm running the 87 Base tune right now and just wanted to ask a couple questions. Since new I've always gotten a slight "bang" from 4th to 5th and every so often from 2nd to 3rd. Does anyone have any experience with this? is there a tune that maybe helps with that at all. I think it maybe got slightly better with 87 base but that could be in my head.

    Any ideas?

It’s in your hear. Common problem with 19’s. You need to change out the driver.

Thanks for your help man. Really appreciate it.
I guess you could say that it almost seems like the rear diff slapping together. It's not loud and its not all the time it's just kind of a clunk.
I am well versed in manual transmissions both passenger vehicles and semi so although the clutch is something to get used to, its not a clutch timing issue. However, I have been wrong before, according to my wife anyway.

I have experienced this as well. I have always attributed it to the driveline unloading between the shifts. So no tune to help, but some mechanical mods might help. We have a "long throw" shifter and have to get through the 5th gear spring gate. That doesn't take a great deal of extra effort or time, but it's there. A short throw kit helps. Then a weighted shift knob to help with momentum. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-2-1-4-diameter-utilizes-factory-boot.534205/ But, what really fouls the thing up is the clutch accumulator delaying the clutch engagement. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mt-accumulator-delete-mod-adm-and-bs-thread.568303/ It is also possible the slip yoke is light on grease from the factory and might need some attention. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/slip-yoke-clunk.511801/

Short shifter and adm are your best shot at a remedy. These along side ovt and I love the way my truck drives and shifts

I have an ADM kit sitting on the shelf in the shop. I haven’t decided if I want to do that or the dremel mod yet. I also haven’t had time to spend under the truck in the last few months. I imagine this will remedy my issue. Where can I get a good quality weighted shift knob! I know one guy was offering them here on TW but that shit is super confusing to follow.

Not sure where to get one, I weighted my pro knob. Was easy to do. That with the urd short shifter. I didn't expect that I'd love it as much as I do

Just do the regular ADM and get that POS completely off the truck. Unless you are super OCD about looking stock for possible warranty work, it doesn't matter. It's the same amount of work either way.

I have the titanium version of this and love it. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-2-1-4-diameter-utilizes-factory-boot.534205/

You can't EVER mail that shift in.

    Tuned, deleted, doesn't matter.

    You CAN skip it though.
