    I. O. Inc Sporter, I realize some of these had major issues to the point where IO isnt making AK's currently

Markings says I.O. INC MONROE, NC and Sporter 7.62x39 PIONEER ARMS CORP RADOM POLAND

Looks like it has Tapco retaining plate, trigger and slant flash hider. Anyone know if those were added?

Also stock on rifle has a loose sling clip that looks like it was carried an awful lot which has me wondering if this has surplus furniture. Can't imagine someone carrying this rifle in the states that much on their shoulder.

Does anyone know if this is the original bolt either? seems like the number on it dosent match anything else on the rifle

Overall rifle is in good shape for what it is and shoots fine. Checked all the normal stuff I could think of.

Def getting some peening on the bolt carrier tail, but some searching seems like that isnt a big deal

The bolt isn't original. The number should match the original number on the front trunion and the finish should be the same at the bolt.
It's a very good change the furniture is surplus.
Look up what 'AK Operators Union' says about these rifles on YouTube. Also might want to get a field gauge to keep an eye on headspace, I think that was one of the problems.

I think these were made from parts kits when I.O. started making them and lots of terrible reviews online. All the rivets sit flush and overall its not showing anything problematic yet so hopefully I got one of the few good ones.

The cheap looking handle is getting swapped out

Considering the history, keep an eye on a few things.
Look into the ALG spring to slow the bolt a bit, that will save some beating on the rear trunion.
KNS makes an adjustable gas piston, also meant to slow the bolt, tame the recoil and same trunion wear.
As I mentioned before, field head space gauge will alert you before you have a big problem.

Personally I'm a fan of the Magpul AK pistol grip. I like to have the same grip feel between different guns, helps with consistency.
And if you want a better trigger, ALG are great for the $.

Just put the Magpul + pistol grip on it yesterday, wayyyy nicer feel and look overall.

I had the same grip and just swapped it for the MagPul K2. It's a bit more vertical and works well with the short AK stock.
