    Good morning Josh,
We drove for an hour straight in a pouring rain on Saturday and not a drop.

It's supposed to be very cold and sleet tomorrow so I'll check it again.

    Thanks,
    Rob

ATTENTION: TTC SATX and Others who may like to travel to the meet - officially from Cars & Coffee San Antonio:

"There will be NO Cars & Coffee this Saturday the 11th. Not trying to keep everyone in suspense, but we've been actively working on a much larger venue where we'll be able to offer you much more. This has not been announced yet until necessary legal processes/agreements are wrapped up. All good however and the good news is it's about complete! I'm anticipating being able to make the announcement this week so we can get back on track starting on our regular day/time in February.

If you've any questions please PM me. If you or you know someone who has a GREAT food truck have them contact me as well!

Edit: ANY Car/Truck/Jeep etc. club leaders please reach out to me as well in anticipation of this next chapter in C&CSA history. It's going to ROCK! "

TTC Calendar will be updated to reflect.

Wassup honkies....dropped the Toyota off on Saturday to be professionally restored. We are talking sand blasting and powder coating frame and axles, new ARB springs, completely new interior. ARB rear locker. Show room condition frame off. I am headed to Arlington this coming weekend to grab a ALH 1.9 turbo diesel to go in it. If anyone knows where I can find a 5-speed transmission with transfer case let me know!

Yea, and that was at highway speeds too. As a matter of fact, when I opened it, it still smells like silicone from where I sealed the holes I drilled. The holes by the way were drilled at 7/32 so the 1/4" bolts were nearly an exact fit. Once I had all the bolts through all the holes I gooped up a large bead of clear silicone around them then I used a 3/4" dia fender washer, then the 1/4" flat and split washers. It's permanent but to be honest, I only see myself removing that case if/when I have to remove the rack, which should be never.

I plan on keeping every bit of recovery gear I have, plus things like a pair of coveralls, underwear, socks and a t-shirt, all in a large zip lock bag. That will be for extremely muddy work. I'll also throw my muck boots in there. It's very spacious inside.

Today was the first day back to work with it. The garage has one of those hanging overhead warning devices. It's a 6" PVC pipe hung by chains with a sign mounted to the bottom of it. It's reads Clearance 6'-6". I definitely drug under it. I think my awning might be an inch higher than the case. And of course as luck would have it, someone pulled in behind me. I cautiously proceeded up the ramp, and the the third concrete cross beam had all kinds of rub marks and scrapes. I swear if I had an inch to spare I had a foot.

The other entrance is 6'-8". I will be forced to use that once I put the 33" tires on the truck.

No problem Mark. I bought all my Stainless hardware at Home Depot. I got the case from Harbor Freight. It was on sale but still not cheap. When I bought it, they had it marked down to $99. But let me tell you. If I ever had to really protect guns from damage caused by transporting them, this would be the case I would buy. It has handles on 3 of the 4 sides. 4 latches, and a pressure relief valve that works. It also had roller blade wheels on on end! You would almost need them too if you had two rifles, clips, and some ammo in this thing. I swear I think it weighed like 40 lbs by itself. The foam is very dense. Quality, not the cheap stuff. It has a solid panel in the lid, and in the bottom and then a pick-apart layer in the middle. Depending on how much I can fit I may put the bottom layer back in so I can also put my OEM jack, breaker bar, and torque wrench up there. I don't want those heavier metal items to be bouncing around. Snatch blocks too.

I'm really glad I bought this. I know some people complain about the plano cases leaking a lot. I would be pissed. Not so much about the stuff inside getting wet but more so about it leaking back out and making a mess on the truck after I washed it.

Buy once, cry once definitely applies to this case.
