It absolutely was! And the aluminum benches that had no back rests didn't help either!

Even the "good" red, white and blue chairs were aluminum. I remembering one game my dad and I somehow got 2 of those seats for a game against the Jets in 97 or 98. F'n froze my ass off during that game so it wasn't even worth sitting. I miss the old stadium sometimes. Fans used to be more into it. Less businesses buying tix.

Also, I forgot to respond to the no Pats fans before 2001 one thing. They started selling out games once Kraft bought the team in 94. People just didn't want to give their hard earned money to the previous owners that sucked.

I saw the Pats play the Browns in ‘94 and, yes, those aluminum benches were cccooolllddd! I remember it was the Browns because some gal had a long Browns coat on and didn’t take the heckling too well. Somehow her coat was being passed across the stadium without her in it.

They were awful in the summertime as well, even in my younger years I couldn't tolerate them

Oh well, Pats are out. Sucks, but you can't go every year. :notsure:

Going to be weird this year, though, not having a team to root for in the big game

Yeah, I was hoping for either the Pats or the Saints. Now that both are out I'm not as interested.

Green Bay is usually my backup team. That's not working out so well either, lol.

I think that the Seattle/Green Bay game this weekend will be close, but that GB will lose.
Baltimore will probably destroy Tennessee, & the Chiefs should handle the Texans without too much trouble. Depending on which Kirk Cousins shows up the Vikings might put up a fight, but I don't see them getting by the Niners this year.

I don't like ANY of these options. I guess I'll hope Green Bay does something and if they lose... well, I got the Bruins.

Anyone else dealing with another ice hell on their property this year? This is what my driveway looked like yesterday morning once the cold returned:

It's hard to see but it's a fairly short but steep little driveway that deposits me onto a pretty blind curve where tractor trailers and all manor of big rigs are traveling all day long. Might be 150 feet long to the upper landing, but it rises a good 10-12 feet from the road level over that 150 feet. I usually just put a tire in the snowbank on the way down, but when I want to tow the trailer it's a problem. It will push me right into the road with this glare ice. Last year was just as bad.

I've mentioned this many times before, but I live in kind of a weird, semi-industrial area, it's more or less one big, huge sandpit. Like hundreds of acres of sandpits all around me. It's kind of my living hell to be honest, sand everywhere. Wind blows- sand in the air. Sand in my boat. My truck? I gotta change the air filter 3 times a year and don't even get me started on how the floor mats get. I can't really have open windows most of the spring and fall because when the wind blows it's full of sand.

You want to know the definition of irony? Having to go to the DPW to bring fucking sand onto my property and the driveway!

No ice hell here yet, but I salted pretty heavily after the last storm and the warmer weather Saturday finished it off for me.

Also, we caught these on Saturday, about 100 yards out in front of the Camp:

11lbs & some change (7 year old cousin for scale):

I actually crashed my truck yesterday pulling into my driveway. About 5mph into a tree right in the center of the hood. Sliding the whole way, it was a slow motion nightmare. Hood, grille, bumper etc... all messed up. Another call to the insurance company. :annoyed: In good news, I will probably replace with the sport hood with the cool scoop and might just get a pro grille on there since, why not? Hell if the whole bumper needs replaced (I think just plastic piece though tbh) I will go steel!

    Anyways.

Who to root for!? Answer is simple, find your closest friend who likes a team still in contention, and root for whoever they are playing
