Installed some anchor points for gear tie downs towards the end of the bed. Getting things ready for the tailgate removal towards the end of the week.

Just got caught up on the thread. No rubbing issues running stock fenders with the mcm kit?

So far the only time I ‘rubbed’ was at full stuff after a launch. Both tires stuffed into the top part of each fender and pushed them out a little. I need to explore hydro bump and fender swap to avoid that in the future.

For what it’s worth during regular driving/trail riding/basic crawling I get no rubbing at all.

That's surprising but really good to hear. I could live with that. My only problem now is that I'm rocking manual hubs so getting axles would be a huge PITA

Hmm interesting. I was actually considering going to manual hubs but hadn’t gotten that far into the research of what I’d need.

Check with Matt @ MCM he might have a solution for you. I got my axles directly from him.

Ill finally be able to get my valuable bed space back by having the spare in the carrier. It’s actually a cut down version of the Wilco full size carrier. So the tubes are 2”.

We are modifying the mounting system so for now it will only mount out the back. We are building gusseted mounting plates for both ends which will assist with keeping my bed from spreading more. When I pull the bed next I’ll gusset the front like we talked about and it should be good to go for a few more decades of abuse.

I have always wanted one of those, but I like to sit and stand on my tailgate to much.

I’m working on a slide out to mimic “tailgate down” with the gate open. Not sure on all the details yet but it should tuck completely into the space above where the factory spare location is.

I found them at a Home Depot off of Thomas and 36th. Let me know if you want some and can’t find them. A few of the HDs that I’ve been to don’t carry them for whatever reason.

Attempt One at the winch install did not go well. I guess what I should say is that no matter how good you install your winch, if it has a dead short in the motor it won’t be a successful install. We got it wired and bolted down. Just was about to wind the rope but the motor was dead as a door nail. So for now it’s on hold pending the delivery of the replacement winch.

.....so... it turns out that nothing was actually wrong with the winch. Which I guess is good news but a reminder that following directions is a good things. Disclaimer: the directions included leave a lot to be desired. Picked it up from 4wheel Parts and got it installed today. Works like a champ. Next thing I need is a protective cover to safeguard the synthetic line from this AZ sun.

Have I seen you driving back from Phoenix a couple times? I worked in casa grande for a few weeks at the end of the year and swore this was you heading south from Phoenix...probably around 3-3:30 in the afternoon?
