Maybe already discussed, but anyway. Anybody has experience of using RTT on Burning Man to live in? I understand windy situation and looking for advise. Renting RV trailer is $1k or something, so, debating.

You can get a cheap one online for less than 700$. Better than renting for 1k.

I have been in mine during some hellacious thunderstorms, and it was solid. I think it depends on the particular RTT as to how well it holds up in the wind.

When is the best time to buy a roof top tent? I'm assuming black friday, but don't care to wait that long. Are there others major sales? I'm assuming memorial day would be a good time for a sale. I'm looking at tepui or cvt.

I guess i should rephrase the question. For black friday it looks like CVT offered up to 40% off, the rest of the year it seems like 20% off the entire site was the sale. Are there particular holidays that they promote with better deals?

MaxTrax, 4x4s, 2x10s (<- double as great bases for a bottle jack if needed), even rocks or firewood work

Rocks since there's usually are some where we go camping. Other than off-road parks but those tend to be flat areas already

    Hi friends,

Before I install our RTT, how is everyone securing or locking their tent?

Just installed KB Voodoo Max Modular long bed rack on my short bed 2020 OR Tacoma. Long rack because we bought a huge tent and the tent overhand on a short bed rack just didn’t look safe or secure.

Next up is our CVT Mt.Rainier, then bed stiffener (can anyone recommend a brand?)

I see that Wheeling Every Weekend makes a cool security mounts but they don’t make anything for our setup. I also see that iKamper makes a mount with lock, but heard it only works for their tent.

Any suggestions is appreciated and if you have a video or picture - even better.

    Thanks in advance.

Tepui is carried by REI, and they have their Memorial Day / 20% Members Only sale (membership is $20 for life) every year. Not sure about CVT. Remain vigilant on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace if you don't mind used.

Talk about glamping. Looks like you can fit a shitter and a mini bar in that.
