    Hello,
I have looked and read all over varying posts about these 2 coils but didn’t find the answer I was looking for hope TW folks can help me out. My OME 888 coils have sagged a substantial amount as most are well aware of. I’m looking to upgrade springs while keeping my 5100’s. As the title says I’m looking at OME 886 vs eibach 14” 650# coils. My question is OME 886 coil states it’s 402mm/15.8 inches At 660# spring rate. The eibach is 14” but both coil combinations with 5100 @ notch 0 will net 2” of lift. How is this possible if the eibach coil is almost 2” shorter then then OME. Why aren’t people running the 16” eibach to match the height of the 886. Any input or recommendations would be appreciated.

I see many 2nd gen posts about the combo of eibach and 5100. Is this something that specifically won’t work with 3rd gens? Eibach does make a 2.5 ID coil but if it’s a difference of the perch between manufactures I understand. I’ll save the guessing and just go with OME 886’s

Eibach 14”, or any 2.5” ID coils, won’t work on 5100’s. Totally different coil designs. You’d need the Eibach pro truck kit springs which are 742lbs spring rate.

Others have said this spring is 620#. Not sure what’s right.

Thanks, confirmed the eibach pro kit has 742lb spring rate and will pair with the 5100’s. Hope this fixes the sagging issue I have with the dreaded OME 888’s

14" coils are typically for extended travel shocks. 13” is stock length

The 886 will give you 3" of lift with stock weight front end. If you add metal bumper and winch you should be at around 2".

Forget all this nonsense and just run the Bilstein 6112's.

Do you have the 886 coil pair with 5100 for your truck? Is this for a 3rd Gen or 2nd? Do you have weight on the truck? And is this a short or longbed? Also how do they ride? I'm still on the edge of keeping my 887 or go with the 886. I don't know why it'll be a issue with the 886 paired with 5100 with everyone saying it's not recommended but the 886 coil is rated at 660# and the eibach is rated at 642#. Alot of people pair the Eibach with 5100 and had no issues so why would the OME 886 paired with the 5100 be a problem? I know they both are different in length and I read somewhere in the forums that it was ok to go second notch for eibach and 5100 if you have weight up front. So I still don't understand how the 886 will be an issue still. Anyone wants to share their views and thoughts.
